You joke but you know what this place is gonna be like when he has one bad game. The position kante has left is a poisoned chalice.
foxy boxing Posted 7 December 2016 Posted 7 December 2016 oh it's going to be so great when we get Mendy back, our midfield is going to be so transformed and dynamic, it will be brilliant. oh it's exactly the same, no change then we shouldn't be putting too much pressure on him and hoping things will be a lot different with him in the side, chances are it will not make much difference but I just want him fit and playing regularly to show what he can do and what he can offer the team now and in the future
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 28 December 2016 Posted 28 December 2016 Is Mendy fully fit now? I think he could be a real player for us, and it's a shame he got injured so early on in the season.
Chico1958 Posted 28 December 2016 Posted 28 December 2016 Let's hope our Star isn't eaten by the Black Hole left by The Other Little French Guy
China Black Posted 28 December 2016 Posted 28 December 2016 Hope he gets a start in the next game. He could be what we need.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 31 December 2016 Posted 31 December 2016 We need to be looking at rotating the lineup, particularly on Monday given it's such a short space of time in between both games. I'd play Mendy, but would it be too big an ask for him to come straight into the side, especially away from home?

GingerrrFox Posted 2 January 2017 Posted 2 January 2017 Just now, BrokenRecord said: What does everyone reckon then? Will be a quality player for us. That challenge on Ramirez where he won the ball in the air and created a counter attacking opportunity is something none of our other midfielders can do. He will only get better with more game time. I would be interested to see something along the lines of the below when all are available. Amartey Mendy Ndidi Drinkwater Slimani Mahrez
The Doctor Posted 2 January 2017 Posted 2 January 2017 Tidy enough - looking forward to seeing him, Amartey and Drinkwater in the middle.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 2 January 2017 Posted 2 January 2017 Very good today for me, I thought the midfield three worked well to be honest. Mendy was an astute signing who I rate highly, and given he's not played or started many matches this season, he did well to come straight into the side today. When or if Mendy continues to get up to speed with the level of football, he will be an asset.
lgfualol Posted 2 January 2017 Posted 2 January 2017 Will be a very useful player for us. Barely played in 6 months so it is understandable that he needs a bit more time.
leicesterlad1989 Posted 2 January 2017 Posted 2 January 2017 Far too crowded in midfield and no width meant that there was too much hoofing. A lot of the game passed him by because of that. He does however appear to have a bit of class and is fairly strong for his size. Ideally if we play a 3 man midfield we need width to stop the over crowding.
Cadno'r Cymoedd Posted 2 January 2017 Posted 2 January 2017 With more games he will improve. Some nice elements to his game today. Tackled well and was strong for his size. We were overcrowded in midfield at times which made creative play difficult. Also dropping back as we did progressively as the game went on made any creativity difficult. Good show by him on the whole I thought.

STUHILL Posted 2 January 2017 Posted 2 January 2017 I actually thought he was pretty poor first half, with some stray passes and a lot of shadowing (King-esq) but not really doing much. Second half he improved and made some decent challenges and passed the ball ok. Still not sure what type of midfielder he is, as he definitely didn't offer anything in attack and made no runs to think of, which I think we desperately need in our midfield - Someone who can pick the ball up and drive forward, as opposed to always playing the short sideways or backwards pass, which is what we had with the 3 CM's today. Would like to see him get a full game against Everton in the Cup and hopefully see him try to have more of an impact on the game.

He's got a very good pass on him when confident. Just have a look at his Nice highlights. I do agree we had too many players like him on the pitch today though, but he got a foot in whenever he could.

Both full backs had to get forward. It's not his fault no passes were on.
desertfox2 Posted 2 January 2017 Posted 2 January 2017 Nowhere near match fit obviously so if that's him at his worst then he must be pretty decent. Looking forward to seeing him when match fit.
