adejo92 Posted 8 December 2016 Posted 8 December 2016 Chilwell has been ripped apart everytime i have seen him play. Get rid. Don't even think hes good enough for next season when we are in the Championship.

On a brighter note though, I thought Ulloa looked good when he came on. He changed the game for us and looked like the only person who wanted to take his chance. Unlucky not to score too. Is that you again Leo? It's not us you need to convince, its your boss Claudio!
NewEnglandFox Posted 8 December 2016 Posted 8 December 2016 He was bad last night but I'm not going up on a 19 year old that hasn't played a real game in months. Didn't Huddersfield rave about him?

Mythyaar Posted 8 December 2016 Posted 8 December 2016 Schlupp left him terribly exposed last night. Even when Ranieri was screaming instructions at Schlupp at 1-0 to pick up the runner he seemed to ignore him leaving Chilwell constantly facing two opponents, he was like a rabbit in the headlights. Don't get me wrong, Chilwell wasn't good but Schlupp's performance was far, far worse.
okie fox Posted 8 December 2016 Posted 8 December 2016 Chilwell seemed slow on his feet when up against the winger.
Realist Guy In The Room Posted 8 December 2016 Posted 8 December 2016 Its amazing but with the exception of Gray, every one of our players that are supposed to have pace look slow as ****. Vardy Schlupp Mahrez Musa Amartey Chilwell Its really strange.

It was actually Gray who initially left him exposed, so Ranieri ended up switching Gray and Schlupp. Then Schlupp did no better so he tried changing to 5 at the back with Chilwell in the centre which again didn't work. It was just a total shambles tbh
Stadt Posted 5 January 2017 Author Posted 5 January 2017 I was a bit hasty with this thread, looks the part now though (although it has only been a few games so we should be patient and not expect too much).
TiffToff88 Posted 17 January 2017 Posted 17 January 2017 I can see him going the same way as Gareth Bale. Perhaps not quite reaching the same heights as Bale has, but he started as a left back, and got pushed further and further up the pitch. There are signs of that happening with Chilwell recently. His crossing accuracy is pretty good for a defender, he seems confident enough to take on one or 2 men with the ball and he's not afraid of getting into the opposition box from time to time. Its still early days of course, but i think the sky's the limit for Ben Chilwell!
Munshi Posted 17 January 2017 Posted 17 January 2017 Used as our target man from every goal kick against Chelsea

I dont understand why sometimes we cant just play it out? Yes Morgan and Huth panic most times with the ball at their feet but surely we could find drinkwater or mendy

TheMightySystem Posted 17 January 2017 Posted 17 January 2017 Impressed that in the few times he has played he has actually made quite attacking plays in the opposition box. Had the shot against West Ham and a nice try with the header against Chelsea. Doubt it will take him as long as Fuchs to get his first goal for the club.
Stadt Posted 17 January 2017 Author Posted 17 January 2017 He's got a great leap but he's got a 50p head
ScouseFox Posted 19 February 2017 Posted 19 February 2017 ok, won't be a popular opinion but he is rubbish
funkyrobot Posted 19 February 2017 Posted 19 February 2017 He didn't play well yesterday against Millwall and was at fault for the goal. I do think he'll be a good left back, at the moment though he's as unconvincing as Fuchsy.
cc_star Posted 19 February 2017 Posted 19 February 2017 With game time & in playing with better players than Musa, Mendy etc he could be a very good player. But he needs another season on loan at a Championship side, which next year will be us
dayday Posted 19 February 2017 Posted 19 February 2017 Wasnt as bad as people was making out yesterday, I call it a game of 2 halves, first half he was one of our better players getting in behind there full back on 2 or 3 occasions, the second he was awful, positioning wasn't right and passing was poor, but then again none of the players hardly set the world alight in that second half.
Thracian Posted 19 February 2017 Posted 19 February 2017 Chilwell's still learning and doesn't need abandoning at this stage. I just wish people had seen that when they were showering the lad with hype after Liverpool's interest. So many times I've talked about people needing to work on their weaker foot. It's easy to do - no harder than fitting it into the rules of everyday training sessions but, as ever, I've seen no improvement to convince me the work is being done. Another factor concerning the goal was Chilwell's risk of conceding a penalty, having previously cost us goals in other ways, however unfortunately. Again, it emphasises my policy of defending higher and not inviting chaos into the penalty box either from open play or via conceding thoughtless free-kicks.
Guest MattP Posted 19 February 2017 Posted 19 February 2017 His performance yesterday was horrific, he didn't do a single thing right. It was embarrassing how easily he got outmuscled every time and what he was doing for the goal I have no idea.
