When a player lunges in to a tackle, and the opposing player goes down like he's injured, obviously it changes the referees analysis of a situation, is that not obvious? 

Our players have dived before aswell you know.... 

when the challenge is as hard as vardys looked, it makes a difference if the player goes down "injured"

I get it all, as I said, the decision was wrong, but I can see why the ref came to that conclusion in the heat of the moment. 

There is no point going lunging in when chances are you come out with nothing in most scenarios.

He obviously takes that into account that he's been caught in a lunge.

He's not been caught in a lunge because there was no bloody contact.
