Ric Flair Posted 19 December 2016 Posted 19 December 2016 Kasper really has shown that goalkeepers tend not to mature and show their best until their late 20's/early 30's. He's always been a class shot stopper but he had a fair few weaknesses too. He has sharpened up on those and the way he organises the defence and talks and drives the team on is invaluable. He's every bit as good as the top top goalies in this division. There's perhaps only a couple I'd class as better and that's De Gea and Lloris. Even Cech isn't measurably better than Kasper.
StriderHiryu Posted 19 December 2016 Posted 19 December 2016 We'd be mad to let Kasper go! Over the years he's become Leicester through and through! Did you not see him calming down Ranieri on the weekend? Amartey even said he was a calming influence on the team at half-time. Not only has he matured into a tp-class keeper, he is a leader too. Have you not seen some of the class saves he's pulled out this season!? Hart is a good keeper, but I hope Kasper sees out his career with us. Legend!

whoareyaaa Posted 19 December 2016 Posted 19 December 2016 Kasper is the main man been with us since Sven and is currently in the peak of his career. LOVE HIM

TAFKA Castroneves Posted 19 December 2016 Posted 19 December 2016 Kasper has matured into one of the best goalkeepers in the world for me, we've always had arguments over his distribution and little things here and there - but as an all-round 'keeper there are very few who can come close to offering what he can, he's a natural leader, vocal, inspiring, can't be touched for his committed shot stopping and is a cruical part of this incarnation of the football club. He's exactly the sort of mentallity you want from every player but that nowadays is also very hard to find. We've all heard about Saturday and how he stepped up to push his team-mates and that's a quality that you simply cannot put a monetary value on, its above and beyond in the modern game. Sadly I don't think any of us could really argue if he did want to move to a bigger club somewhere down the line, he's pushed away the Everton interest but once the Champs League is done this year we really could be in for it this summer. Now is Hart a good replacement? Potentially yes, he's got the ability without a doubt, however there were spells for England and Man City when his head dropped and his performance was affected - which in comparison vs Kasper would give me some cause for concern - but I got a sneaky feeling that in a club like Leicester he'd settle in very well, he'd compliment our English lads well and realistically I don't think there will be much better out there for a reasonable price. So yeah, fingers crossed Kasper wants to bed in and be with this club for a very long time - if not I'd be happy with us considering Hart as a replacement.
Bayfox Posted 19 December 2016 Posted 19 December 2016 I don't doubt and think many would disagree, that in the last 18 months, Kasper has improved and is top 5 if not top 3 in this league, he still has flaws, but he's certainly worked hard to improve on them. So of course we would be keen to hold onto him, however, we aren't a top 5 club at this moment, so depending who came in for him, Man City or Man Utd where he has ties, and how much money they came in with would be a factor. IF he was to go I don't think we would find many better than Joe Hart as a replacement, yes he has a glaring error in him on a regular basis, but as keepers go, where would we find better and Man City have made it clear they don't want him, so a deal maybe there to be had, personally if I was Everton or Liverpool management I would be looking at him as well. I think he would be decent around the club and the dressing room as well, maybe not like Kasper, but wes and Kapser admit they look at Kingy like a senior figure and take him to all meetings, sure Joe Hart would fit the same, he's got loads of experience at club and country. Let's hope Kasper stays yes, but don't pretend we are gonna find a world class keeper in replacement, Hart maybe the next bracket down, but we could do worse. And before anyone says we could do better, where? Pay a fortune for Pickford if sunderland went down, we don't know how good he really is, there's been plenty of highly rated keepers at young age that never made the grade long term.
DB11 Posted 19 December 2016 Posted 19 December 2016 Should Kasper go then I would be delighted at replacing him with Hart. I'd still prefer Schmeichel though as we have literally seen him improve year on year since he signed and it has been great. Would Man City really want a swap deal?
foxy boxing Posted 19 December 2016 Posted 19 December 2016 i really hope Kasper stays but if he did go then Hart would be a good replacement who has bags of experience
MrSpaM Posted 19 December 2016 Posted 19 December 2016 Wouldn't want Kasper to leave, but if he did, Hart would be a good replacement
Bedford Fox Posted 19 December 2016 Posted 19 December 2016 Like everyone else has said I really don't want Kasper to go he adds so much to the team and is a major part of the success we have had but if he had to go Hart is a good as a replacement as i can think of.

M0901 Posted 19 December 2016 Posted 19 December 2016 I'd never take Hart OVER Kasper, but would have Hart if Kasper left He's become a top class goalie and he's happy here. No discussion.

No discussion. Well he is happy here, sort of... But he'll not turn down a club that's playing champions league football year in year out- especially if he knows we have a quality keeper in waiting in the wings... a consience free move for him!
Babylon Posted 19 December 2016 Posted 19 December 2016 What has surprised me the most about Kasper is that he has continued to improve since we got promoted. His kicking still winds me up no end, but other than that he's one of the most consistent keepers in world football for me. Other than questionable positioning at free kicks (which is being fairly picky) he very very rarely makes a clanger. It fells like he has one about every two years, if not more.
norwichfox Posted 19 December 2016 Posted 19 December 2016 I really hope we don't lose Kasper, but if we did I can't think of a much better replacement. Would like to see Kasper see his career out with us and become a coach.
HankMarvin Posted 19 December 2016 Posted 19 December 2016 GLOVE AFFAIR Liverpool transfer news: Kasper Schmeichel eyed up by Jurgen Klopp’s Reds after helping Leicester City to Premier League title Goalkeeper has become a word to be mentioned quietly at Anfield in recent years. From Simon Mignolet to now the much-maligned Loris Karius, the position between the sticks is just one of a number of issues that Jurgen Klopp needs to address to fix his shaky defence. Many believe that Karius’ performances warranted the German being dropped for the Middlesbrough fixture, but some think that the charismatic coach should have kept the faith. All this uncertainty leads to rumours and stories emerging about the future of the position and a source close to the club has told Football Whispers this weekend that the Reds are keen on making a move for Leicester City’s No.1, Schmeichel. Liverpool have apparently made enquires about a move in the summer. However, it is understood that the chances of any deal happening this winter would be unlikely “unless Liverpool blow the doors off with an offer.” The Danish shot-stopper was crucial in the Foxes unexpectedly winning the Premier League title last season and he was rewarded with a contract extension in August, tying him down at the King Power stadium until 2021. At 30 years old, he would still have a good three or four years at his prime, but it would take around £20 million in the winter to get Leicester City talking about a move. Claudio Ranieri’s side are struggling at the bottom end of the table.
Tielemans63 Posted 19 December 2016 Posted 19 December 2016 Can't see him going to Liverpool unless they offload one of Mignolet or Karius and who's going to want either of them? Really can't see him joining Man City either. Pep has always made it clear that he wants a keeper who is comfortable with the ball at his feet, hence why he got rid of Hart for Bravo in the first place. I absolutely love Kasper but if he does have a weakness it's most definitely his kicking which I think would put Guardiola off massively.
Guest the fox Posted 19 December 2016 Posted 19 December 2016 Any one that thinks Kasper is better then hart is kidding himself. The only thing that I could say Kasper is better at is ball distribution. I would have hart over Kasper any day of the week. And for the people talking about leadership, do you think hart is not a better leader??? Hart was a great leader for a better club with better players (world class players). And He had no problem going on BIG NAME players in the NT. He is just better and I would welcome this move.

There are a lot of good keepers in this league Like: butland, courtois, degea,Heaton,Forster, lloris, stekelenburg,Pickford, boruc, valdès,gomes and jaku. And even spurs's second keeper is decent (vorm) The quality is there and I would think at least 4 names( excluding the big club keepers) are higher priorities compared to Kasper.

I think it's probably because he plays for Leicester that he doesn't get the recognition by the pundits that he deserves. In my opinion, only Lloris and De Gea are better than him in the league. He is too limited. Good shot blocker/ball distributer but have some major problems. Last year he seemed to struggle with corners and crosses and set pieces ( WBA freekick goal) and generally not the flashy keeper so that could be a factor On 18/12/2016 at 19:29, breadandcheese said: Kasper is massively underrated. Ahmm. Courtois and Butland are better and this season's heaton looks like a proper keeper. But like you said, it is your opinion.
China Black Posted 19 December 2016 Posted 19 December 2016 Want Kasper to stay by all means. However if he does leave, then Hart would be a great replacement.
davieG Posted 20 December 2016 Author Posted 20 December 2016 Lots of links to Liverpool wanting him as well.
