Father Ted

Danny Simpson

Simpson always has and always will be steady. In a team that gives up possession then it works as he's a very good defensive right back but when your attacking and need goals he's not the answer.... In comparison to the main English right backs he's nothing going forward compared to clyne and walker but makes less defensive errors

Imagine mulling over this season's problems and coming up with "DANNY SIMPSON!!!!!!"

If there's one positive I'll take from the current season, it's that Father Ted will never manage Leicester City Football Club.

With a weak midfield our defence has been exposed and our forwards given less opportunities to score. Huth in particular has sometimes tried to plug the odd midfield mistake higher up the field leaving the backline floundering  (not his fault), and because he's knackered and trying to do two jobs, Drinky has been less effective. Simpson is one of the least of our worries in fact, bearing in mind he's been covering for the bone idol Marhez, I think he's done remarkably well considering.

RB should be a priority over a midfield that is currently occupied by Amartey and King? lol ok mate.

Except that we do have Drinkwater, Mendy and James there too. Once all are firing that's not a poor set of options.

Meanwhile, at RB we have...ah yes, just Simpson, and maybe Hernandez (who is really a CB).

While our midfield could definitely do with a creative addition, you lose games because you concede goals...so our defence needs urgent attention.

To clarify: I think Simpson has done a decent job generally for us this season, but a) he needs cover/competition and b) he's not the complete full back we probably need.

Oh it's Danny Simpsons turn for 'Knee-jerk Scapegoating'.

The whole team need to wake up and so does the management and coaching staff. 442 451 433 whatever we change too won't work if not everyone's attitude is right. You cannot blame one player!

Two yellows away from another suspension (10 total). And then 3 away from another (5 in the new year).

I don't think either would be a 2 match ban, but I'm not sure?

I'm not sure quite how it works but it stops after today. Silly booking today for kicking the ball away.

Mr consistent. Great performance again today.

Exactly, he's a steady eddy. Won me over last year for sure.

He's never going to be a world beater, but you know he cares about the club and the team. I also think he's a good example of making the most out of fairly limited ability. That's not intended as a dig, I just think he knows how to play to his strengths.

We do need back-up for him though, and someone a bit better than Hernandez who is yet to impress.

The 5 yellow accumulation = suspension ends today. But you still get a suspension for 10 in a season regardless of when they were. So 2 more. And then another 3 more will be 5 in the 2nd half of the season so suspension.

Has to be one of the most bizarre OPs I think I've read on here. And that's up against some pretty stiff competition.

Simpson is fine and is not one of the main issues/problems in this squad.

Sorry your going to have to enlighten me.

Which part of that story makes you think he is a scumbag? I'd be pissed off if I didn't get to speak to my daughter on my Birthday.....admittedly I haven't assaulted my missus but he been handed his punishment for that....albeit that didn't really work out but that's not his fault.

I'm not condoning any violence if there was any but didn't she testify under oath that he never touched her and it was just an argument

she just seems more annoyed that he never brought her anything for Christmas

Something like that but he still got done for it so as far as the laws of this country are concerned he did it. And when he was found guilty I was of the belief he should of been sacked, but he hasn't, so given he's going to be playing for the club we all have to move on and get on with it.

I don't even really get why it's been posted to be honest unless he does something that properly brings the club into disrepute I really don't care what he does outside of football, who he argues with, etc. This is pretty much a non issue, a spat between two adults who don't like each other very much but have a child so unfortunately (well for him, she's landed on a gold mine) are doomed to have to each other in their lives for a very long time, plenty of cases like that up a and down country. If I cared about shit like this I'd watch East Enders.

Simpson has been steady for the last couple of seasons, this year Mahrez has been woeful and given him no protection add to that the loss of Kante breaking everything up he is suffering a bit but far less than Morgan & Huth. What his personal life or Tweets have to do with his ability to play at Right Back for us is beyond me.....

Honestly, how long will this guys mediocre footballing ability protect him?

He's an absolute scumbag. Ashamed to have him at our club.

Ashamed to have him at the club? get real! what he did was wrong but he is a solid right back that helped us win the bloody league.
