Once again, nope. We're not trying to replace Ramirez, we're trying to add to him.

 

Speculation from our end that Ramirez doesn't want to leave, he just wants a new contract and it could be something to do with the fact we're playing him out wide in our system when he wants to play CAM. If that's the case, Leicester seems an awfully strange place for him to move to, given the lack of a #10. Could change with Ramirez though, I guess.

I don't think it has ever been on the brink. I think that if this has anything in it at all, this is just the work of his agent and Steve Gibson notoriously hates agents. If Ramirez's agent is anything like Ramirez himself, he's probably just gone "Well I'll cook up a bit of hassle for Boro then until we get our way".

 

I think if you're expecting this one to go through then you might be clutching at straws. Since it came out, our dealings in the market haven't changed. So we're not looking to replace him as it stands. We were after Deulofeu, Bojan, Snodgrass and Jese before this thing happened with Ramirez.

 

Who knows though, I might be wrong. It certainly feels like it's died off at our end.

Really warming to the idea now, of Ramirez signing. I think this is mainly down to the amount of Boro fans I've seen stating how much of a loss to them it would be.

 

if we get the two transfers (Acerbi as well) over the line, we could line up as follows:

If Slimani is playing CF then Albrighton has to play imo, for his crosses from the right. I wouldn't start Ramirez straight away.

Yeah, not straight away.

The next few games are gonna be a nightmare to navigate our way through anyway. I think it's going to be painful.

 

If we can get our new signings like (Ramirez and Acerbi, hopefully), bedded in during that time and push for a settled end of the season with that kind of line up, then great.

im just trying to find a positive solution to a mess of a season tbh!

However, if Ranieri gets his finger out then this lad will fit in well here. He's potentially changed his game from when he burst on to the scene at Bologna and I worry he will want to take up the same space and positions that Mahrez likes to operate in but if they could both hook up a rapport then we'll soon see a massive change to our fortunes. We are so devoid of creativity right now but these two on song and Gray as well will make us get out of this muck. That's irrespect of our suspect defence and misfiring strikers. It would get us over the line this season to regroup and start again next year.

That's because the team is loaded with defensive players, defensive full backs, defensive midfielders a plenty and a couple of creative players, who are so isolated up front the ball comes straight back anyway. We need a change in how we play, I fear swapping one creative player for another isn't going to do anything.

Starting to warm to this.

 

26 so should be about at his peak. Could bring the creativity/penetration we so badly need. Can score, and we really need another goal scoring midfielder, decent set piece taker too. Boro fans seem to really rate him.
