the fox Posted 10 February 2017 Posted 10 February 2017 I would like him to start after Claudio's comments. And if he doesn't play well, then he will be replaced.
ARM1968 Posted 10 February 2017 Posted 10 February 2017 He has been amazing but he's not worth a place currently.

Give Gray a chance up front alongside Slimani, but not Musa (put him on the wing only). Start him in CL games, as it will appeal to him that potentially scoring a few for himself will increase global media attention on him with his rise to the global stage etc and make a better name for himself (and wife probably too). Right, because Jamie Vardy is easily talented enough to just grab a few goals against the best defenders in Europe when it 'appeals' to him. I'd love to hear what you've got to say about Wes, Huth and Simpson if this is your opinion on Vardy.

He hasn't even scored against Copenhagen,Porto and Brugge so I doubt he will just be able to turn up against Seville
justfoxes Posted 11 February 2017 Posted 11 February 2017 Play him first half if he's still not effective replace him with Ulloa or Shinji ? Show him he's replaceable if he doesn't perform as he has done I'm hoping what Claudio has said to him and Mahrez has sunk in and they return to form ?
Bablemikey Posted 11 February 2017 Posted 11 February 2017 I'm struggling to understand why Vardy should be so maligned here. Given that the BBC stats show that he's running just as much and actually sprinting more than he did last season and that in front of goal he's also doing better with the chances that fall to him. Whilst stats obviously don't tell the whole story, in this instance they are a very strong indication that the problems we have are not caused by Vardy slacking off in any department.

desertfox2 Posted 11 February 2017 Posted 11 February 2017 As per the BBC his conversion rate is actually better than last season. Can be a great striker but without the supply not going to score many

I don't agree that it proves it. Analysis is a wonderful thing, but in 3 or 4 years time, somebody will state "oh yeah, that was the season Vardy was crud", you would argue back with what's said in the BBC analysis, but still I reckon the person that's stated "oh yeah, that was the season Vardy was crud" would have they strongest case because they would simply point to the fact he scored a low number of goals in that season as our number 1 striker. Goals matter, he isn't scoring and he's had chances that last season he would have put away. I think he's a confidence player, I'd love to have a chat with him, see what's inside his head. I hope he can change his game and prove his doubters wrong, including me, for the remainder of this season. Yes ultimately people see the goals number and make a judgement on that, but that's my point is in the case that's wrong as the stats prove. You say in penultimate paragraph he isn't putting the chances away he would last season. But he is. His ratio of goals to chances is better he's simply not being provided with enough of them.

I stand corrected, thanks. If only there were stats for confidence, depression, mood, vibe, missus, etc etc.

He scored again yesterday when perhaps he should have been sitting in the stands. And vardy is now not fit for our next game. Of course, van dijk would call it karma.
CupidStunt Posted 12 February 2017 Posted 12 February 2017 Should have been benched a while ago, but who replaces him? We have no one Vardy hasnt been the same player since the summer. Who knows whether this big contract has made him too big for his boots. He probably knows he will be off in the summer if we go down. Always thought he was a bit of a dick, since he came into a shop who someone i know runs. He was talking in a Jamaican accent, god knows why. He was acting like a dick, but he was our dick and a dick whom i'd rather be in our team, than be a dick in someone elses

lgfualol Posted 12 February 2017 Posted 12 February 2017 Vardy strikes me as someone that would smoke weed and think they're Bob Marley for a bit.
Wymsey Posted 12 February 2017 Posted 12 February 2017 You do have to wonder what (seriously) he'd do once playing days are over. Just can't imagine him being as part of a commentatory panel/team or on Sky Sports News on a Saturday. The club will likely give him a role of striker coach or something, and try and get the kids and youngsters areas to work towards to try and attempt his past on-field greatness.
SheppyFox Posted 12 February 2017 Posted 12 February 2017 Once we get Benny in the starting 11 regularly we will be able to pass it up through the team and our strikers will get better service

He'll probably lose most of his money when his wife finds someone else to keep her semi-relevant
dynamark Posted 12 February 2017 Posted 12 February 2017 From my experience it will be half his money plus maintenance.
HankMarvin Posted 12 February 2017 Posted 12 February 2017 He would probably build a banging racing track in his garden
Wymsey Posted 13 February 2017 Posted 13 February 2017 That time yesterday where he sliced it well wide has made me to think his confidence in his own ability has deteriorated a lot, very different to his mentality last season where everytime the ball went to him he knew what to do and how. Shouldn't really be starting as he's already getting frustrated with himself. But there's no other definite option (apart from Ulloa) and Musa clearly hasn't got Vardy's strength whilst Okazaki is very hit-and-miss imo.
