SouthStandUpperTier Posted 8 February 2017 Posted 8 February 2017 The pitch was also noticabley clear of rodents tonight, he hasn't lost the knack There were 11 of them wearing whiteThere was also one balanced on top of Wasyl's head.
Vlad the Fox Posted 9 February 2017 Posted 9 February 2017 One of my mates lads was a mascot a few years back and he said Nuge was brilliant with him. When they went into the changing room he made a big fuss of the lad and took him round to meet all the players. Glad he got a good reception, top bloke.

Although I thought the people starting his old chant off were extending their gratitude a bit too far... But its perfectly fine when everyone applauds Hazard and sings him a song.

He scored nearly 60 goals for us, helped us get promoted and stay in the prem, was always a model pro and everyone who's met him says what a top guy he is. It feels to me like you're celebrating him a bit too much if you chant his name. Almost like you're on his side, which of course you're not.

JPM1983 Posted 9 February 2017 Posted 9 February 2017 Decent round of applause, few chants - well deserved for Nuge.
Ted Maul Posted 9 February 2017 Posted 9 February 2017 Got a well deserved standing ovation when he came on, and that was that. Exactly how it should have been.
desertfox2 Posted 9 February 2017 Posted 9 February 2017 Good to see he got a good reception always gave his all for us (and against us before we signed him Would probably have saved the chant until after we had won the game though....
Lovejoy Posted 9 February 2017 Posted 9 February 2017 I think it's great we can welcome back former players so warmly. My early years as a season ticket holder happened to be in the mid naughties and couldn't have dreamed of welcoming back the likes of Peter Canero and Elvis Hammond !
foxfanazer Posted 9 February 2017 Posted 9 February 2017 One of the most likeable players I can remember us having. Top bloke and always plays with a smile on his face
lifted*fox Posted 9 February 2017 Posted 9 February 2017 Is he still good friends with Vardy? Maybe he's missing Nugent in his life which is why he's been so shit lately.

foxy boxing Posted 9 February 2017 Posted 9 February 2017 there should of been chants of ' long live the squirrel, long live the squirrel' to pay homage to the squirrel chaser
Voll Blau Posted 9 February 2017 Posted 9 February 2017 Glad he got a good reception but, as mentioned, it's a bit weird that his name being sung was one of the loudest chants of the night.
sylofox Posted 9 February 2017 Posted 9 February 2017 I wish he would come back. Just to show some of our mardy cvnts how a professional footballer should act. I hate it when ex players turn up at the sheep or florets. But seems different with Nuge. Wish him all the best.
crazyleicester Posted 9 February 2017 Posted 9 February 2017 Nuge got a classy reception for the faithful, shared a joke with Weso as he ran to stand next to him and everytime the camera zoomed on him seemed to be enjoying it and was enjoying being back playing on the pitch. Im sure he would have enjoyed it more if Vards started as they are really good mates (was he Vardys best man??) so I would have seen them have some big laughs on the pitch if they both started.

Despite them not winning the game, he made the effort to come and meet the Leicester fans waiting in the cold for photos and autographs. And actually stayed and chatted for a while. Very down-to-earth guy. Wish him the best at Derby I remember him when he played for us one pre match i was with my lads watching players arrive. It was a cold winter day and he had joggers and a t-shirt on but signed for everyone. He also picked up a small kid for a photo and you could see he was shivering with the cold, but very gracious with his time. Top bloke.
