Get in the real world. and are you seriously comparing Ranieri with Ferguson ? Clown. Why is he clown for that statement. No way would united have ever sacked Fergie with players being more powerful....what CR achieved here was every bit as good as anything Fergie achieved when you compare the resources available to each. our owners have been magnificent but I think this is a sad and disappointing decision which will only be correct if we stay up and develop the club to the next level.....none of the managers mentioned will do that imo......
sishades Posted 23 February 2017 Posted 23 February 2017 Shock......David from Coalfield is on ......
grth2004 Posted 23 February 2017 Posted 23 February 2017 2 things Very sad to see him go and will miss him but when I heard the news for the first time in the last few weeks I actually have hope we might now stay up but I feel bad for feeling good , can't explain but it's a 50/50 sad but positive moment. I hope by the weekend there's a new manager because we are in serious crap and I'm hoping for jap stam or someone along those lines who can build a new team from the back upwards.

If these players don't respect Claudio, who will they respect? Nobody we can realistically hire IMO. Also, the manner in which it was done and the timing of it is appalling, which is why people are reacting emotionally. The best decision for the club would have been to do this months ago, or after the season. Will have to wait to see who is appointed to see if it's a good decision or a bad one... but it doesn't look promising from where I'm sitting. It isn't about respect 'imo' its about belief in the system. I feel the players lost belief that the management would me the correct decision. Poor lineups etc would probably suck the life put of them before a ball is kicked.

Corky Posted 23 February 2017 Posted 23 February 2017 Really pissed off with this. Not the sacking itself because it is understandable based on this season's performances and results, just the way it has happened. I didn't expect it either, I honestly felt the backing two weeks ago was genuine and they would stick with him. I wish the bloke every success in the future for what he delivered and the charm he delivered it with. Just a real shame it had to come to this.
Raw Dykes Posted 23 February 2017 Posted 23 February 2017 I feel like a weight has been lifted. Still think it's too late for this season.
Guest Bob Hazels shorts Posted 23 February 2017 Posted 23 February 2017 Sacked 6 times and either not had contract renewed or asked to resign/ encouraged 4 times

There were some other strange things in that match, such as after Vardy hugging Ranieri, he cleary said something. I don't think it was abusive, but he might have known what was coming. I'm not in the know as such, but there was rumours he just wanted to get through this game. The argument was that we trained all week using 441 formation with grey starting and another player but on morning of game CR changed side and gave no explanation. Grey was upset and it led to players confiding in shakey who was left in the room whilst CR left and went back to his room

Bernieboots76 Posted 23 February 2017 Posted 23 February 2017 It is quite clear that there was player unrest the question is how did we go from a band of brothers to a team that doesn't seem to have that sprit anymore. The talks between the manager and the players and amongst the players themselves did not sort the problems. We will never know what started the problems off but if the players and if it is correct what we are led to believe some of his backroom staff have no confidence in the manager which appears to be the case then something had to change. Just heard on Radio Leicester that the players stabbed C.R in the back after last nights match but as I said we will never know the truth.
Pasty1 Posted 23 February 2017 Posted 23 February 2017 It undermines all last season's achievements..... Gutless, shameful..... He should have been given a chance even if we were relegated....
Kaewbudda Posted 23 February 2017 Posted 23 February 2017 It's sad, but the owners obviously felt that Ranieri was not going to be able to lead us to safety. Sorry to see Claudio go, but he will not be short of offers as the wider footballing world still view his time here as miraculous. For me, his dignity, graciousness, warmth and humour will always be fondly remembered.
Monsell1976 Posted 23 February 2017 Posted 23 February 2017 I'm not happy with ranixt, can we re run a referendum, I'm a ran-moaner
MrLuke Posted 23 February 2017 Posted 23 February 2017 Just baffled by the timing. They MUST have someone lined up. I'm gutted he's gone – just watched the Everton game from last season, seeing him come out onto the pitch to the applause of the fans, on the greatest day in our history brought a lump to my throat. I'm also sad for how our amazing achievement of last season has been tainted, and I'm furious with a number of the players who clearly don't care as long as they get their pay check. There is no hiding place for them now. As gutted as I am though, I remain hopeful it's the correct decision. Something has to change if we're in any chance of salvaging something from this season. The eternal optimist, I'm hoping for a shock Hiddink appointment; someone who will command respect, and to who premier league and champions league football are standard-fare. Saying that, I await tomorrow's appointment of Alan Pardew which will coincide with me setting fire to myself.
EGBFitness Posted 23 February 2017 Posted 23 February 2017 Funny reading social media comments... going to unfollow you now, you think your special now and expect top 5, ungrateful Will be glad to see the back of a lot of the plastic fans, yes CR achieved the unthinkable but he has had plenty of time to turn it around but has failed... we're in freefall! If we sacked him or or we got relegated we'd lose the neutrals love
fazzyfox Posted 23 February 2017 Posted 23 February 2017 Waiting for Sky Sports to have a video montage backed by that operatic "Time to say goodbye" song. Might need some tissues (and I'm not referring to their totty presenter).
EGBFitness Posted 23 February 2017 Posted 23 February 2017 Shakespeare to take Liverpool game with new manager announced before game?
Volpe Viola Posted 23 February 2017 Posted 23 February 2017 Most people were shocked at CR's appointment and they are now shocked at his sacking. In between he managed the team that won th EPL. Well done Claudio and thank you. the passage of time can make supposed good decisions look bad and vice versa. We'll find out which way this looks soon enough. judging by the drivel in Twitter we can all start singing the Millwall song. ?

Might make sense. I noticed this too. Also all the players on the bench didn't celebrate with Claudio for the goal. Sad that it happened but he has clearly rattled the cage if the wrong people.
