You don't know that, no one knows that.

Despite the greatest achievement in this clubs history he wasn't given the chance. Disgraceful.

I know it because the players didn't play for him....

Analysis of 18 seasons of football:

When a sustained performance drop occurs, the statistically optimal decision is to keep the manager. Second best choice is for the manager to depart voluntarily. The statistically worst choice is to sack the manager.

We have made, statistically, the worst decision available.

Worst decision for what? This isn't just about staying up, this is about next season and beyond whatever league we're in.

Anyone watching us would know the stats means sod all. We've shown nothing, absolutely nothing to suggest we could stay up. If we had, he'd still be here.

Statistically you are wrong and time will tell

Seriously some of the comments. Happy "if we go down" you what?

For those who love Ranieri/Pearson/O'Neil they've gone leave with them if you wish. For those who love Leicester City - we are still here and fighting away.

The club was in turmoil. The CLUB was suffering.

As disgraceful as the owners not sacking him before he'd have hypothetically got us relegated?

"Stats" meaning possession etc do generally mean sod all. This is points won after sacking managers, and takes into account a decent time period after the sacking.

Points are fairly fundamental, as stats go. League tables are sort of based on it.

Can you imagine his little face when they told him the news. It hurts.

He has helped his reputation despite this season, after Greece everyone thought he was a joke. Plus I'm sure he had a nice pay off, and he can certainly walk away with his head held high knowing he did achieve greatness here

If we don't stay up after this, the players should be ashamed and we as fans have every right to be livid.

Whether we stay up or not the players should be ashamed.

Apparantly Rudkin phoned him at East Midlands Airport and delivered the bad news.

So sad.

" The cracks could be seen as far back at the 5-0 trouncing in Porto when Srivaddhanaprabha was observed having a heated discussion with Rudkin at half-time at the Estadio do Dragao, frustrated at what he had seen as a cause of Ranieri's rotation policy. "

Or 'hypothetically' had him keep us up!

Fact is no one knows. However I believe that after what he did, he earned the right to a chance.

Legend has it, ever since he heard the news he just lets his spectacles sit at the end of his nose.

So you've personally spoken with the players then?

I just feel there were rifts between him with both players and staff... I didn't want him to go but I also feel it is our best opportunity to sort this mess out. I love the guy which Leicester fan couldn't after what he did for us. Like Mourinho at Chelsea you can't keep a manager that doesn't have backing from his own players and staff

I guess you are going to ask Lineker how long he has been a suporter too when he said " After all that Claudio Ranieri has done for Leicester City, to sack him now is inexplicable, unforgivable and gut-wrenchingly sad"

Some of us just are not fickle nob heads who belong to generation Y - the millennia's who don't know the meaning to loyalty, winning and losing together and just want everything now.

He can **** off as well. He has publicly slated most of] his decisions and then slated his sacking. If he doesnt understand the reasons why, some might recommend he takes a look at his twitter history. The ones with his name at the top will give him a few clues.
