st albans fox Posted 25 February 2017 Posted 25 February 2017 This challenge for the players is now huge. if you take into account that we could well go behind on Monday night then shakey has to pick players who have the mental toughness not to shrink in front of what may become an abusive home crowd - to be able to put in a performance without worrying about making mistakes. Not sure how many of those we have at the moment. The reality is that beating Liverpool on Monday will not define if we stay up - hull on Saturday will, just as it did two seasons ago!!
splinterdream Posted 25 February 2017 Posted 25 February 2017 Just now, Sir Shep said: I think we're down, really can't see our form picking up. 39 points to be had. We have Gray, Mahrez, Ulloa, Vardy, Ndidi, Slimani, Drinkwater - these are great players
Cadno'r Cymoedd Posted 25 February 2017 Posted 25 February 2017 The vast bulk of the team won the PL at a canter last season. Confidence and consistency in the next four games with a couple of wins at least and we will be ok I think. A big task ahead though...

FoxinNotts Posted 25 February 2017 Posted 25 February 2017 Win on Monday and it'll all look a hell of a lot better, that's for sure! 15th and two points of struggling Bournemouth. Hull and Seville to come at home. Monday is massive for us. Massive. The players need to be told this explicitly.
The Doctor Posted 25 February 2017 Posted 25 February 2017 I had hope before Thursday, now I think we're royally screwed.
filthyfox Posted 25 February 2017 Posted 25 February 2017 As long as the other results keep going our way, we will be fine..... just
Tuna Posted 25 February 2017 Posted 25 February 2017 Put in a good performance full of pressing and determination against Liverpool, then I will. If it's more of the same, then we're already down.
Fennec-Fox Posted 25 February 2017 Posted 25 February 2017 Unfortunately, sacking Claudio could be a start of breaking a team that made you champions. Hope am wrong.
dylanlegend Posted 25 February 2017 Posted 25 February 2017 I think we will see an improvement in our performances. I also think many will be surprised by the difference sacking Ranieri will make. The players clearly weren't happy so I am much mor optimistic now, but it does depend on who we get in

Guest Mickyblueeyes Posted 25 February 2017 Posted 25 February 2017 If what is being said on main stream media about the players and about the club does not motivate this club from top to bottom to fight like crazy to ensure relegation does not happen, nothing will. Ive never seen the media and so called pundits openly insult a club, it's officials and it's players like this before. Merson said we were lucky to win the league. Henry said he hopes we go down. Mourinho and Klopp saying we should be satisfied with going down. Bruce saying we are an asylum run by looneys. come on you ****ing *****. Sort this out now!
splinterdream Posted 25 February 2017 Posted 25 February 2017 Hull, West Ham, Stoke, Sunderland, Everton, Palace - a run we of games all winnable with our players, West Ham, Stoke, Everton and West Brom will be middle table not interested, and the others possibly 6 pointers - we can do it
Babylon Posted 25 February 2017 Posted 25 February 2017 Fear it's too late, it usually takes time to play yourself into form. Players will need to gain confidence and quickly, couple of bad results in the next few games could spell the end.

That was astonishing, how dare the owners with their financial responsibilities try to protect their assets

Well since we didn't win that game and still stayed up that's obviously bollocks. Did make Nige set his team to go all out to win games, mind.
Guest Posted 25 February 2017 Posted 25 February 2017 I think defensively we're still shot, but if we can get an extra 20% from ndidi, gray, slimani, mahrez and vardy then we have a chance of turning a few of those 3-0's into 2-2's or 1-2's. might be just enough to survive.
lestajigs Posted 25 February 2017 Posted 25 February 2017 How the hell anyone can answer this question at this stage is mental
Halifax Fox Posted 25 February 2017 Posted 25 February 2017 For the last month I've thought we were on the way down. Now I think we've got a chance. Shakey and most of the players have been here before. It's not the same this time around because two years ago we were at least turning up for every game but things weren't going our way until the last nine games. Now we've to turn around the performances, but how we finished the game on Wednesday in Sevilla suggests we can do this. ?

It's a massive uphill fight from now on, and the word that worries me is "fight", as there has been little evidence of it this season.
Chico1958 Posted 25 February 2017 Posted 25 February 2017 Walk in to the dressing room. Say to the players are you up for this, those who stick their hands up get to play. Then we'll stay up. There are good players in that dressing room they just need to know we want passion, skill, teamwork, luck. If they show just some of that we'll be fine. If not, see you in Cardiff next season............. I can get tickets here
lcfcsnow Posted 25 February 2017 Posted 25 February 2017 I still don't think we can play 442 without Kante, not once in our first season back and this season have we shown any sort of form in that setup, even last season we were very poor vs West Brom in the one game he missed towards the end. I hope Shakespeare realises this being here throughout or at least have a solution, still expect the same side though.
sm1 Posted 25 February 2017 Posted 25 February 2017 I think we'll get 38 points, which will be enough to keep us up. I think Sunderland and Boro are going to get relegated. The last spot is going to be between us, Palace, Hull, Swansea & Bournmouth. We'll sneak through.
