I can't say I'm up to speed on Ghana's resources on central midfielders or central defenders.

 

It make the recent Juventus links less likely though if Shakey thinks Benalouane is better than Amartey.

We might have a defender who can actually distribute the ball for once. It's painful seeing Simmo get the ball, who hasn't a clue what to do with it so give it to Wes who equally hasn't a clue who passes it to Huth who smashes it long.

The reason Amartey isn't starting ahead of Benaloune has nothing to do with who's the better player. Benny is playing because he's better in the air and stronger. They have Andy Carroll upfront. It's just common sense.

Thought it was quite telling musa gets the nod ahead of kapustka.

Amartey is young and hasn't started for us in that position yet, so I imagine the game being away Shakey has gone for experience today.

 

I personally would like to see him play there sometime because it's where he played for FCK and would be a good long term prospect for the club. I also think he could be good at it as he has the physical attributes to do well in this league.
