Joking aside it was clear that the money spinning tour of the world was hugely detrimental to preparations for this season. I'd say we need at least 6 friendlies with at least 3 or 4 being in the british isles with ranging opposition, IE something like York, Portsmouth, Walsall and Ipswich with the quality of the opposition increasing each time, if we have a training camp in Austria again maybe arrange a couple of local games against decent opposition and finally a glamour friendly against a top European side (Although by definition aren't we one also? lol).

One of the mistakes last season.

Yes we were flying round as "Champions of England", but it really hampered our preparations and start to the season with not enough players getting 90 mins under their belts.

Keep it local and bed some youngsters/new players into the team without much traveling

What if it wasnt these games for themselves, and not the flying around, but knowing now what we do,

Ranieris tactical changes and preparing a new set up and Change of approach for the Players .

Not forgetting a complete turn around of backroom staff, the seeds of self doubt might of already started

then to have effect....??

Yes I agree, I had the same thinking that these changes you mentioned also added to the poor start and eventually leading to Ranieri leaving Leicester.

I just feel flying around the world as champions and advertising King Power, was an unwelcome distraction that had a big say in our preparations to this season before we even started.

Driving distance from Cardiff would be nice ............. I'm thinking two hours not four

So Bistol, Birmingham, Walsall, Swindon........... Newport and Cardiff would be great,

But please no humiliations on the box like the last time

4/6 games against Division 1/2 teams away (not Coventry please) then a Championship club at home or a decent Euro club at home, give all the squads a run out and City fans the chance to see the players live instead of on telly..... :scarf:

Please no European aways. I'd budgeted for not spending more money on European aways after being convinced Sevilla were going to murder us. Pre-season to Germany is just going to batter me even more lol

What about the Pepsi challenge? Get that Indian team to come over, along with a couple of B grade European sides.

not sure Kylie Jenner is available in summer.

Leicester City will head to Stadium MK to take on MK Dons on Friday 28 July (7.45pm kick-off), as part of their preparations for the 2017/18 season.

The Foxes have faced the Buckinghamshire outfit just twice competitively, with their only league visit to Stadium MK finishing in a 2-2 draw back in February 2009.

Since then, City have contested a number of friendlies against the Dons, with the last coming in the form of a 4-0 victory in September 2014.

Under the guidance of former Fox Robbie Neilson and with the help of Academy graduate Harvey Barnes, MK Dons have cemented their League 1 status for another term following a fine run of form.

Over March and April, Neilson’s men have lost just two of their last eight League 1 fixtures and conclude their 2016/17 campaign with a trip to Walsall on Sunday 30 April.

Ticket details for the friendly fixture will be confirmed on LCFC.com in due course.

nice, went when we played them at the National Hockey Stadium. Tommy Wright scored a superb volley. Think it was 4-2.

Unforgetable scenes when Maxi Gradel scored that equalising last minute free kick in League One! I ended up about 5 rows from where I started!

The Harvey Barnes derby.

Much prefer this than playing ££££ friendlies against PSG and Bsrcelona.

5/6 games around UK would do it for me. Every player needs to complete 90 minutes at least 3 times. Albrighton and a couple others didn't do a whole game in the Summer and it showed.

No doubt we'll do this asian trophy though.

Yeah couldn't agree with this more - our successful seasons have directly followed a solid pre-season without any glitz and glamour - perfect time for new players to gel and CS to come up with a decent set of tactics.

There is no decent opposition in Austria.... Forest or Derby could win the Austria Bundesliga.. It is that bad.. But 2 games here would be good for the strikers to wear in their new scoring boots.
