You can just imagine when Wenger finally gets sacked, he'd still turn up to his office the next day as if he's still manager.

The last sentence make me chuckle slightly for some reason..

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola should not wear a yellow ribbon because "we don't want political symbols in football", FA chief executive Martin Glenn has said.

The Spaniard has been wearing the ribbon on the touchline in support of imprisoned politicians in Catalonia.

The Football Association charged him last month after two warnings.

"You can't have and we don't want football equipment to display political symbols," said Glenn.

Glenn was speaking at the International Football Association Board (Ifab) meeting in Zurich, where the use of video assistant referees was approved.

"To be very clear, his yellow ribbon is a political symbol, it's a symbol of Catalan independence," added Glenn.

I can tell you there are many more Spaniards, non-Catalans, who are pissed off by it."

Chris Hughton doesn't get the credit he deserves. Done a great job at Brighton and stopped Newcastle imploding a few seasons back.

I said earlier this season, if he keeps Brighton up he should be in with a shout of manager of the season.

I like Hughton and he seems like a nice guy too.

Gundogan breaks the record for number of passes for the best team in the league that also broke the record for the number of passes in a game, and you think it is worth pointing out that this record breaking total in a record breaking game for a record breaking team by a world class player is a lot more than Matt James got playing for Leicester v Bournemouth?

Must also look at Chelsea's negativity and at times just watching Man City pass the ball around compared to Bournemouth who come and actually attacked as they always do.

I think it's very relevant to compare.. As Matty Jame's total of 45 is probably another record set... For the least passes completed!

Not really, comparing anything to a record breaking total is pointless, compare it to the average, in fact if it is the lowest ever (which I doubt) then that is a lot more relevant than Gundogan. You want to prove that James is shit compare him to someone shit not the best.

Said it yesterday, great manager and great bloke, like you said not mentioned anywhere near enough!

If you look at his career so far, the Norwich relegation is the only blot, and it was a close run thing!

Over 50% win record at Newcastle and 40+ at Birmingham and Brighton.

Would be interesting to see him take a step up, he's famed for defensive direct football but what I saw from Brighton yesterday was far from that... perhaps he's just one of those managers who adapts his style to the players in front of him.

Isn't James competing in the same league?

this might come as a shock to you (depending on how intelligent you are) but we're not actually as good as man city, they're probably the best team this country has ever seen, their whole style is based on short quick passing and they break records for it weekly. cheers for pointing out that their central midfielder is probably better at passing than ours, though.

lol was thinking the same thing when i read the original post. If i was playing in man city's midfield yesterday i would've got at least 100 touches, that really is not an exaggeration!

Is that stat correct as I can't find it? Whoscored says 25 passes against Bournemouth and 41 touches.

For reference Stoke last week:

N'diaye 41 touches and 24 passes

Allen 50 touches 27 passes

Shaquiri 41 touches 21 passes

So it wouldn't even be the lowest touches / passes by a midfield player in our last two games.

Touching other players doesn't count

Don't really know why we werent interested in him when Shakespeare went. Always came across as a decent down to earth manager unlike the arrogant dyche and big sam. Seems to have done well whereever he's been.

Well you could say James had more touches than Hazard but, you know, you'd be an idiot to do so.  Seems a weird way to get a sly dig in at James?  X

They are competing in the same league.

Didn’t say win it I said “in with a shout” which is fair given the size, expectations, budget and pulling size of Brighton compared to any top 6 club.
