jim5000 Posted 29 April 2017 Share Posted 29 April 2017 Do you think we will keep them as the main central defensive pairing? They are both 33 now, turning 34 during the season. I'm a lot less worried with Wes out that Huth, I think Huth is the more important player and his style suits 'being old' more than Wes if we keep one of them in the team. Huth and Benny an acceptable pairing for next season?
Sampson Posted 29 April 2017 Share Posted 29 April 2017 Too early to start throwing players by the wayside yet. Morgan was exceptional against Atletico alongside Benalouane and I don't think it's fair to say he's done yet. It's nice to have the choice between the 3 though and hopefully some younger blood will be signed as a long-term replacement in the summer. Devonfox1884 Posted 29 April 2017 Share Posted 29 April 2017 I'd like us to spend some money on one young CB, and phase one of them out throughout next season (Probably Huth as Morgan's captain). I like the sound of Murillo from Inter personally.
ousefox Posted 29 April 2017 Share Posted 29 April 2017 I certainly don't think Benaloane is good enough to be a permanent replacement for either - as likeable as he is.
Sampson Posted 29 April 2017 Share Posted 29 April 2017 Ummm... yeah, no one is going to come from Inter Milan's first team to Leicester.
Sir Shep Posted 29 April 2017 Share Posted 29 April 2017 One of Huth or Morgan, one new CB alongside. Phase them out gently over the next couple of seasons. They're both still good enough, just not over a whole season.

Bob Weasel Fox Posted 29 April 2017 Share Posted 29 April 2017 It's obvious it's one area that needs improving for at least adding some genuine competition (rather than discarding either player yet)
foxoffderby Posted 29 April 2017 Share Posted 29 April 2017 I would like a quality CB young, quick and left footed to rotate with Benny, Huth and Wes.
Tuna Posted 29 April 2017 Share Posted 29 April 2017 Huth is still quality, Morgan not so much. Morgan should be the no.3 and Benny is backup. We need a top quality centre half to partner Huth. 2 minutes ago, foxoffderby said: I would like a quality CB young, quick and left footed to rotate with Benny, Huth and Wes. Huth is left footed. sdb Posted 29 April 2017 Share Posted 29 April 2017 Still think in the right system they're good enough for another season. But if we're not signing a top quality youngster to learn off them at the very least then things could turn a bit ugly.

AmarteyAndChill Posted 29 April 2017 Share Posted 29 April 2017 I expect to keep Huth as he's a beast in the air along side a new, quick, ball playing - ish centre half.
Ashley Posted 29 April 2017 Share Posted 29 April 2017 Huth is right footed, if you didn't know that you obviously don't watch us enough. I mean remember his free-kick against Stoke?

Hence he plays in the left side of the two.

lgfualol Posted 29 April 2017 Share Posted 29 April 2017 They'll be first choice if Shakey is still manager. I think we need someone younger faster and better on the ball to push them both for their places though.
foxes21 Posted 29 April 2017 Share Posted 29 April 2017 Morgan and Huth are still very good defenders at this level. Next season they will still be better suited to our system & better defenders than the likes of Keane, Gibson, Maguire, etc. It will take a VERY good CB to take their place in the starting XI. We should sign two CB's to learn from them.
Izzy Posted 29 April 2017 Share Posted 29 April 2017 Whatever happens, Morgan and Huth have both been outstanding bits of business for us and we've had way beyond our money's worth out of them both. Sentimentally I'd like to see them both stay, but it's clear to see they're both often lacking in pace against quick strikers. But what they lack in pace they make up for in physicality and I love em both for that. I never thought I'd see better than Walsh, Elliott and Taggert in my time but these two are right up there. I reckon if we keep them both with Benny and then replace Wasyl with a younger upgrade, we could maybe rotate the four of them to good effect next season. Ian Nacho Posted 29 April 2017 Share Posted 29 April 2017 I think one of them won't be in the picture next year with us being linked with the likes of Gibson.
Fox92 Posted 29 April 2017 Share Posted 29 April 2017 Should have been replaced this summer, or at least one of them. Huth is better than Morgan. Benny is decent but makes some stupid decisions at times.
