ealingfox Posted 3 July 2017 Posted 3 July 2017 Absolute shambles - no guts, no ambition, no self-belief, no plan, no structure, no order. Cvnts. We'll be down in the next 2 seasons.

RoyFox Posted 3 July 2017 Posted 3 July 2017 £35m sounds realistic. Ideally would have liked £40m. However with much lower output and his statement of intent to leave, plus no doubt the club wanting to know the situation (to find a replacement early in the window), it didn't surprise me. Iheanacho I'm optimistic will join as West Ham have moved onto other targets recently. This also frees up the FFP wage 'wiggle room'.

You don't get a replacement for a player like mahrez, and you defineatly don't sell him until you get another winger in cos everyone knows we have 35million to blow.

Mahrez hasn't given us much choice though, can't wait until the end of the window for another day 3/4m and lose out on other targets IMO.
thybluefox Posted 3 July 2017 Posted 3 July 2017 35 needs to be the absolute bottom limit we should be accepting - but we'd still be getting mugged off. 40m would be the least amount we can accept without looking like fools.

Guest Col city fan Posted 3 July 2017 Posted 3 July 2017 You just know that Mahrez will move for between 35/40 million and go on to have a storming season. Like Kante...you just know this will happen. And we will be left applauding Slimani for getting 5 goals.

If Arsenal get him for £35m then it's possibly one of the best signings of the summer - an absolute steal. Anyone suggesting it's a reasonable sum is bloody stupid and I would suggest our owners are making a mistake IF it is so little - we should stand firm as he is worth every penny of £45m in the current market and we will have to spend a lot on 2 or 3 players who would start to improve the team imo.
Guest Posted 3 July 2017 Posted 3 July 2017 If this is happening then I'm gutted but not surprised (obviously). The year we had Kante, Mahrez and Vardy at the top of their games and won the title will be a year we're talking about like Forest fans in 30 years time. He couldn't reproduce it last season but he's quality through and through. Riyad Mahrez
Babylon Posted 3 July 2017 Posted 3 July 2017 I swear this thread is word for word the same as last year. "He's going Arsenal", "he's signed for Arsenal", "he's had a medical" and at no point did a single decent source say anything. Just load of attention seeking wanna be ITK's I'm sure he'all go, but until Percy or Ornstein say anything, then I'm taking it as nothing more than recycled rubbish going round in circle again.

Gotta pay tons for players not worth the amount and bigger clubs don't have to spend that much on our stars.
lcfc sheff Posted 3 July 2017 Posted 3 July 2017 If we do sell him for a low price, it could be we have a future sell-on fee??
RoyFox Posted 3 July 2017 Posted 3 July 2017 There's even some Arsenal adamant it's £28m. If that was ever the case, I'd look for the nearest bridge. £35m rising to say £40m is just about acceptable. Remember his output wasn't great. Last season it would have been £55m.

No other side would give their players away like that. If we want to pretend we're a big club then we need to show some ambition in keeping our players and not folding at the first ask. Any other club would get the most they possibly could. Surely we realise Arsene Wenger is under heaps of pressure to deliver this season? Surely we realise that Mahrez knows that if he sulks and refuses to play that he won't get his dream move? Surely we realise we've got one of the League's most mercurial, unpredictable, entertaining, expansive and charismatic footballers? But what makes me absolutely sick... nay, ****ing angry... is that there are people who claim to be Leicester fans that actively want us to sell Riyad Mahrez. He doesn't want to be here. Why wouldn't we want him gone?

The club should have got rid of the root, rather then put a expensive plaster on a massive wound
Marshall Cockney Fox Posted 3 July 2017 Posted 3 July 2017 Is Wenger really going to spend £80 million on two players. Bless, the Frenchmen will have a coronary!!
RODNEY FERNIO Posted 3 July 2017 Posted 3 July 2017 Problem is Arsenal seem to be in a take it or leave it situation as no other clubs appear interested .
