Attendance vs Watford

To be expected when we're playing a nothing game against Watford when the plastics don't want to come.

Even the non plastics, didn't seem much like they wanted to be there, very flat 1st half, I was surprised to see people leave before the Albrighton goal also, gutted when Vardy shot at the keeper I had a £1 on 5-0.

2-0 up in a nothing game with a dead atmosphere, I don't blame anyone leaving few minutes early. If it was 1-1 in a mid season game that had some relevance, then it's a bit unusual to leave early. Either way, it's their prerogative.  Never quite understood why some fans get irate about the issue of leaving early. It's not that serious.

I've left early before and I've also been one of the last out of the ground at other times. It is what it is.

Haven't got any issue if people want to leave early in a game like saturdays (although I never do)

However leaving when it's 1-1 or something seems bizarre it's like leaving the cinema 10 mins before the film finishes. What's the point in going?

Attendance figures are never correct. Sky Sports said that the attendance at the Arsenal game a few weeks back was 58k meaning there were only a few thousand empty seats. Anyone who was there that night could clearly see that there were a lot more than just the few thousand. You can't physically count individual heads!

Still quite a record that our average home attendances have never dropped below 20,000 since the stadium was built in 2002. Even in League One we just about averaged 20,000.

Which is why I never understand the "where were you when you were shit" chants. So unoriginal it's funny.

people were leaving with 8 minutes to go!!!

we were singing 'is there a fire drill' at the Baggies match to the home fans just over a week ago when they left early but they were LOSING.... I can never understand people leaving early especially when we are winning...I have to travel back to Birmingham each game and still stay to clap the last player off the pitch which on Saturday was Marc Albrighton (great game)

I'd like to clear things up and apologise to all you loyal fans who stayed for the full match. I am ashamed to say I had to leave on 87 minutes in order to be back for my daughters dance show. I am totally and utterly disgusted in my actions.

I'm with you on that. Never understood this ridiculous 'beat the traffic' malarkey. If that's more important to you, why go to the game in the first place? They were filling the aisles where I sit yesterday a good three or four minutes before the end. Insane.

Missing one of our best counterattacking goals of the season serves them bloody right.

PS if you were one of those early leavers, could you please explain yourself as I just don't get it.

I hope my above explanation is good enough for you. I'll send in a letter of consent next time.

I did find it strange they left 1000 empty seats, when it was classed as a Sell out online...Makes no sense? couldnt then have just sold them on the day?! Them sub ticket offices might as well be converted into something else as they are never needed these days.

Still don't get people who leave early to beat 5 minutes of traffic.

Fair enough if you have a genuine reason, but most I hear who leave early, don't.

Subway or Costa Coffee perhaps ?? ...    you just can't get enough of those fookin places ..

But you're right it is weird and I'd love to know why ...   there must be a good reason as they are just missing out on extra income ...    and depriving fans of watching the match.

The only time I left slightly early was when I travelled by coach, just wanted to make sure I was back at the coach on time. Maybe people are travelling by coach or brought in by a driver?

I rang up for an extra ticket 10 days before the game to be told that it had sold out and that there was no way Watford would return any tickets on time. Ten full days!

I noticed this at the back end of last season as well when tickets were like gold dust.

If it is going to change, it has to come from the Premier League as away clubs seem more than happy to take the £20-30k hit rather than return them in time to be re-sold.

Blimey, didn't realise this was such a touchy subject.

Of course its a touchy subject, especially when you have asked those who have left early for an explanation. People are entitled to leave whenever they like, without other fans having some sort of superiority complex about it.

Personally speaking, other than Saturday, I never leave early but I am fully aware that some have reasons. As a whole it's a minority who do leave early.

I find it strange that people turn up 10 minutes late, leave 10 minutes at before half time for a beer and then come up 10 minutes after we kick off for the second half but if that's what they want to do, they certainly don't need to explain it to me.

I try to time my departure less than a minute from the end when in injury time, to get to the aisle, row U in SK2, not bad compared to the top rows, l sit next to some lads who always leave before the end, sometimes 5 minutes. The goals they missed last season, especially the Ulloa goal against Norwich, what a moment that was!! I can only remember leaving early years ago when we were 5-0 down against Bolton. Peter Taylor era. First match I think, awful, think I had an excuse. Up to the individual I say.  Pretty much the same in Spain, they leave well before time, not just at Leicester

Usually sung by teams who would've loved the numbers we had when we were shit.

Your tolerance is admirable.

I guess you don't - like me - sit in a row three seats from the aisle where you are forever having to get up and down out of your seat during play to let those people you mention shuffle past you as they go about their alternative business - or, worse still, have your view of the action temporarily blocked if the offenders are in the row in front or standing and watching in the aisle.

i wonder if all the early leavers end up in their own traffic congestion, we always stay to the end to clap the team off, and did so on Saturday, but due to them having gone I sailed through the traffic and got to the high cross to pick the Mrs up a good 10 minutes earlier than usual, of course she wasn't there so had to wait 10 minutes so I was no better off

Fortunately for me I am at the top of SK1 so I am able to stand all game but it would drive me insane if I constantly had to move. I am not very tolerant of a lot of things, it's just I don't get that bothered if people choose a different way to enjoy 'watching' the football.

Funnily enough, sitting at the top of SK1 is a nightmare for getting out of, hence why I had to leave 3 minutes early on Saturday. First time I think I've ever left early though...well since we were 5-1 down at Forest

I am (or was) a serial late arrival on Saturday kick offs. Plus left 5 mins before half time to get beers for me and mates and late back in at half time. Apologies to those that I annoyed, but I've seen too many last minute goals to leave early. Everyone gets stuck anyway.

These last few seasons when I can get a ticket on membership I'm quite happy just letting everyone out and staying put for 15 minutes.

However, the slow train past Sileby is a piece of piss. I suppose it boils down to our beloved city ground with awful roads must add hours onto others travel times.
