Probably one of the greatest examples of why foreign ownership should be approached with more caution.

A traditional, successful club now caught in the big trap of a previously unknown group, who know nothing about successfully running a football business, that has damaged the club and even towards the threat of making the club go towards their own future in doubt if this situation gets anymore worse.

No. We were the greatest example. Our club of this size; it was a fookin disgrace. That's why no other supporter will ever feel the same about our title win. EVER.

Foreign ownership, yeah let's blame those foreigners, after all id rather have Blackpool or Newcastles good old English owners than our useless foreign owners.

out of curiosity, how many supporters does blackburn have in India/Asia? Presumably that was their target market for growth. Have they abandoned that since relegation from the premier league?

There's some interesting stuff going on in the Craig Whyte trial right now isn't there? Wonder how the Blackpool fans are enjoying League Two.

Perhaps just all owners of football clubs should be approached with caution, Britain has its fair share of incompetent and/or dodgy businessmen.

that playoff defeat at Wembley still wrangles with me as I was their so not that bothered that they have been relegated.

I'm not 100% sure but isn't that the 3rd club that have been relegated when starting the season with Owen Coyle as manager.

Bolton

Wigan

Blackburn

Burnley in 09/10 as well.

Being totally lazy here but what actually have Venky's done wrong here? I don't really hear of them anymore except as them being the reasons they lose games. Is it purely a lack of investment?

According to Ian McIntosh on the Guardian podcast Blackburn have spent a total  £250,000 in the last 4 transfer windows whilst selling Hanley, Gestede, Josh King, Rhodes etc for tens of millions. They're basically asset stripping the club.

They sacked Sam in 2010 - SEVEN YEARS AGO - Sam isn't some sort god figure. If West Ham go down next season are pundits and fans gonna bang on about "they shouldn't have sacked Sam"?

Beyond that, I don't really care about Blackburn.

Precisely.

We saw Sam Allardyce put Jeff Schlupp at centre half at the weekend. Says it all.

I think it's more that the sacking of Allardyce was the start of a series of hideously poor decisions. Weren't they top half or thereabouts when they booted him out?

He's not a certain guarantee of success but to get rid only to bring in Steve Kean was a terrible move. They shouldn't have sacked Allardyce.

Steve Kean will be a future great

Poorly run poorly managed outfit who punched well above their weight. They average around 12/13k a game which suggests a bottom half championship side but thanks to poor management they have under achieved and paid the price and as mentioned look no further than the owners.

To think seven years ago they were but a volcanic ash cloud away from signing Robert Lewandowski lol

Yeah, and we were one a unicorns fart away from Lionel Messi. Fine margins.

You'll find he had little to no other choice due to Crystal Palace's injury crisis at the back (Dann, Sakho, Tomkins out).

But funny nevertheless. :D

They had Delaney on the bench if I recall correctly.

People forget that Blackburn is only a small town not much bigger than Rugby.

League One is about right for a town of that population.

They massively overachieved under Dalglish with Jack Walkers millions.

It is mate. Have you ever been? It's a bit dark, Satanic Mills and the stadium kinda dominates an otherwise typical Lancs town. Jack Walker will be turning in his grave re. how the club has been run ever since.

I've never had the pleasure mate but my Dad is originally from that neck of the woods and followed Blackburn as a youth. He still goes on about their team of 63-64 that finished 7th in the old Division One with the likes of Ronnie Clayton, Brian Douglas, Mike England and Keith Newton playing.

Jack Walker was a great owner for Blackburn and I remember that Play Off loss to them like it was yesterday. All their fans in the coaches at Wembley waving wads of cash at us through the windows. Just look at them now....

How did they overachieve? Two British record signings sorry three with the keeper.

Of course they had the money to buy the title back then, but I doubt we'll see a small town the size of Blackburn winning the PL again.

the size of the town means nothing. If it did we should have won the title years ago. You might as well say you can't win the title if you have a small ground.
