ARM1968 Posted 8 June 2017 Posted 8 June 2017 Everton are a better choice than us currently. However if we are to progress at all we need players like Gilfy. Get it done. Stop nagging about.

chapero82 Posted 8 June 2017 Posted 8 June 2017 It would be amazing if we get him, but I'm not getting my hopes up

Maybe some of his magic is wearing off I find it very odd that people are putting slimani in the same bracket as Musa...

If Everton lose Lukaku and Barkley and we still have our best 3 best players I reckon there is a chance. If we go and sell Mahrez then we haven't got a chance. I don't know with Barkley though - if they hold onto him then where are they playing both him and Sigurdsson? At least here you can pretty much guarantee he comes in for Okazaki.

I'm Leicester through and through but come on! I'd bloody love us to sign sigurdsson though Because our owner is worth 3.6 Billion

Major Trophy wins in the last 25 years Leicester 3 Everton 1, Champions league appearances, Leicester 1 Everton 0 They haven't been out of the top division for 63 years or so. They will be seen as a far more solid bet than Leicester, if you leave a relegation threatened team you don't want to join another.

U HAVE HIT THE NAIL ON ITS HEAD, untill they start spending their money, we will just go around in circles. they will only do enough to stay in the top flight.hope iam wrong but cant see it.

They seem to prefer that the club is run on an unsubsidised basis. This is very commendable, but unfortunately is unlikely to allow any kind of break in to the top 6.

st albans fox Posted 9 June 2017 Posted 9 June 2017 Their hands are tied by ffp - your playing budget can only increase by a fixed percentage each year. I suspect we had an opt out on that last season due to circumstances but it will kick back in now. If we want to take more big salaries on, we have to lose some too. That's just PL restrictions - European ones are larger but we do have an extra 70 m in the pot this campaign and we bloody well have to spend it cos we only have this season if we realistically want to establish ourselves as a top 6 side. If we qualify for Europe in the future without having enough income stream to cover our expenditure then we will be in trouble with UEFA.

This has been discussed to death. There is a big difference between appearing in the top 6 (albeit coming top) and being considered a top 6 side.

And there is a big difference in being 6th and finishing top by 10 points. Why should they not oversee us on a secure footing without throwing their money at it. We are hardly at crisis and as bad as it was at times last season are we really that far away with our best team firing?
