Excellent! They'll be sending scouts to watch the prison first 11.

Rusko187 Posted 2 August 2017 Posted 2 August 2017 I have one serious concern about this transfer...... ...The longer it takes for them to announce will mean we are for sure getting one MASSIVE cringey announcement.

In Morata's case, I read that he was poorly advised and, therefore, signed an agreement that he would return to the Bernabeau should RM want to buy him back. It seems he, (and his agent probably), received 'bonus' payments for accepting the clause and, despite him offering to repay that, in order to nullify the agreement, Madrid insisted he re-sign for them! If Iheanacho has agreed similar then fine, he will have to return to Manchester, should City 'come a-calling'. If not, then there can be no enforcement of any transfer. The 'buy back' option gives City priority IF they can agree terms with Iheanacho. In effect, it gives them first refusal to talk to the player and a set price to pay......... It is, in no way, a 'ball and chain' clause ! . So all those telling me I'm wrong don't know either but there is a precedent been set with Morata and Real Madrid indicating I could be right as well. I've never indicated it was "modern slavery" or "ball and chain" but the whole purpose of a contract whether you're a footballer, pop star or whatever is obligations from both sides. I would suspect though that Manchester City and Iheanacho have a similar deal with each other that Morata and Real Madrid had with each other. Without the agreement of Iheanacho then the buy back clause between Man City and Leicester isn't worth much. I accept I may be wrong but anyone telling me I'm 100% wrong is either an idiot or has access to contractual details.

Hack Posted 2 August 2017 Posted 2 August 2017 This just posted on ESPNFC.com http://www.espnfc.com.au/story/3170320/kelechi-iheanacho-completes-25-million-leicester-switch-sources Kelechi Iheanacho on Tuesday evening completed a £25 million move from Manchester City to Leicester City after passing a medical, sources have confirmed to KweséESPN. The fee makes him the most expensive Nigerian player ever, displacing Odion Ighalo when he signed for Chinese club Changchun Yatai for £20m in January. It is also the second highest African transfer fee this season behind Mohamed Salah's £34.3m move from Roma to Liverpool. The transfer, which has been in the offing for weeks, was held up by legal issues over his image rights with his former agents. But sources close to the player confirmed to KweséESPN that after passing his medical on Tuesday, the player signed a five-year contract with the Foxes. Kelechi Iheanacho has moved to Leicester City in search of more first-team minutes. However, an announcement is only expected within the next 24-48 hours as the club tidy up legal details in respect of his former representatives. Manchester City have inserted a buy-back option in the contract, which KweséESPN is told has been pegged at £50m for one of Europe's brightest young footballers. It is unlikely, but Iheanacho could be announced in time to be involved in Friday's friendly against Borussia Monchengladbach at the King Power Stadium. Leicester's capture of the 20-year-old, who scored 26 goals in his 71 appearances across all competitions and friendlies for Manchester City, brings to three the number of Nigerians at the King Power after Ahmed Musa and Wilfred Ndidi.

I'm only saying "he has no choice" because I suspect Man City and Iheanacho have come to a financial agreement that he gets compensated if they want him back. Perhaps an agreement of a lump sum and an obligation to match his contract at Leicester. Iheanacho will have have been fully complicit in it because of financial guarantees by Man City if they decided to activate his by back.
Hack Posted 2 August 2017 Posted 2 August 2017 06.34 BST: We're kicking today's Transfer Talk off nice and early with some news out of Nigeria. Sources have confirmed to KweséESPN that Kelechi Iheanacho's £25 million move from Manchester City to Leicester City has been completed. The 20-year-old has reportedly signed a five-year contract, in which City have inserted a £50m buy-back clause.

ARM1968 Posted 2 August 2017 Posted 2 August 2017 Great signing. If only we had someone who could feed the Nacho.
Sambiasso Posted 2 August 2017 Posted 2 August 2017 As first reported by Owngoalnigeria.com Leicester City Nigerian forward Ahmed Musa has dropped his favourite number 7 shirt for a new shirt number at Leicester City, Owngoalnigeria.com can confirm. Musa as first reported by this portal will now wear shirt number 13, while fellow forward Andre Gray will wear the number 7 shirt vacated by the 24 year old Nigerian forward who settled for the number after his big money move from CSKA Moscow. Meanwhile new signing Kelechi Iheanacho is yet to pick a shirt number, but reports indicate he could settle for the same shirt number he wore at Leicester City as he preferred number 9 and 10 shirt is not vacant. Number 72 was his number at Manchester City, but there’s a possibility of him picking up the number 8 jersey at the club according to a source close to the forward whose signing will be announced later today.
