StriderHiryu Posted 29 July 2017 Posted 29 July 2017 This is reminiscent of pre-Christmas last year. Tepid performance, not really creating anything and a lack of drive. I appreciate it's preseason and players don't want to get injured but we are lacking what Shakespeare brought when he took over - the aggression and desire in our play. Hope le to see a dramatic improvement in the second half.

FuchingKante Posted 29 July 2017 Posted 29 July 2017 These recent performances haven't filled me with confidence for the upcoming season

PoshhFox Posted 29 July 2017 Posted 29 July 2017 I know it's pretty season but it's hard to watch. Our style is defense to attack with lobs only.
matty98 Posted 29 July 2017 Posted 29 July 2017 Ndidi and Drinkwater are always right next to each other, one of them needs to be making forward runs or we just keep hoofing it.
UPinCarolina Posted 29 July 2017 Posted 29 July 2017 I'm not sure why I'm bothering to watch this. It's turgid and shit.
s11nny Posted 29 July 2017 Posted 29 July 2017 i know it's just a friendly but that was poor. Wolves looked by far the better side. Only chance we have created is when vardy got in behind (how he missed an open goal I have no idea!)
surrifox Posted 29 July 2017 Posted 29 July 2017 All these pre season matches have been turgid nonsense - why even bother ?and certainly don't ask people to pay good money to watch a training session
Guest Posted 29 July 2017 Posted 29 July 2017 That made the game against MK Dons look good. Old guard back line looked terrible. Vardyhas to socre one out of the two chances but even then it's back to pfaff around and then play the longball to vards. DD best player of the first half with only Albrighton and Ndidi even get decent mentions otherwise. Mahrez looked like the player from last season, Okazaki? sums up our lack of options. We need Iheanacho and Shakey to play more of a possession passing game.
jmono84 Posted 29 July 2017 Posted 29 July 2017 It's the same team barring maguire!! I'm not convinced with our plans... think we switched to a 3-4-3 towards the end but we look so uncomfortable playing the ball on the ground
lcfcdamo Posted 29 July 2017 Posted 29 July 2017 Wow i no its a friendly but that was poor we can't even pass the ball more than 2 times marhez the only player who can take someone on drinkwater just dont look like he can run anymore its like he is turning 35 and his legs are going we have no creativity without marhez nothing wot so ever

Looks like most of the chances were for Wolves Maguire looks very composed and assured from what I've seen of him pre season.
Gold Coast Fox Posted 29 July 2017 Posted 29 July 2017 I'm not sure what style of play everyone was expecting from Shakespear.... it was never going to be fun to watch
Suzie the Fox Posted 29 July 2017 Posted 29 July 2017 I'm more dissapointed as we literally playing our 1st team. Before anyone tells me its ONLY pre-season its not gonna install me with any faith for the new season.
Tielemans63 Posted 29 July 2017 Posted 29 July 2017 I know you shouldn't get too het up about pre-season but i'd feel a lot better if we could at least create a few chances.

Him and Benny at the back or even Amartey and we’d pass it out plenty, also Iborra always offers for the ball from DM so it’s a nice build up from the middle. problem is we’ve changed nothing, this is our “first team” and it includes one new player

Yeah that partnership needs some work. Drinkwater likes to come deep to collect the ball, but Ndidi also like to come deep to protect the back four. Neither get forward enough.. We need atleast one of them to burst forward, so our attacking players have someone to play 1-2s/triangles with.
