I know I'm in a minority, but I think that Matt James has had pretty good games so far this season.

He has done whats been asked of him and done it well.

Would he have been playing if we didint have injuries? Who knows...

With the exception of Brighton we have had 2 of the toughest matches we gonna have all season, what do ya expect from him. Give him a chance, I not not a doubter or dissapointed at all.

Name one that the club can get! Just 1!

There are a lot of players like vardy, he is just high-end!

And if you bothered to read the post well, I was talking about importance to the team and the quality of backups

At the moment I am personally more interested in the level of our DoF/ Scouting/Recruitment.  This is what is going to determine our destiny over the coming season.  If players are being retained and sold over Shakey's head, I just hope that 'if' things do indeed go pear-shaped, the correct culprits are binned.

£28m in today's market is ridiculous. We always get screwed in transfers, and I'm not talking about Kante as that had release clause in the deal. In a world where values are getting increasingly bigger each window, where someone like Wimmer is sold for £18m, Jordan Ibe for £15m, where we're apparently going to have to spend £27m to get Andros Townsend, how is a player like Drinkwater worth less than £30m. Roma are offering pennies for Mahrez too. We give off an air of easy target, a club who will except lower fees because we're still so small fry we think £28m is a lot of money. Transfer fees are over inflated these days and we should be getting at the very least £40m for Drink water, at the very least. And something upwards of £60-70m for Mahrez.

do actaully have a rough idea what fee we'd be getting??

keep seeing from £29mil upto nearly £48mil, and saw in one of the papers that chelsea hope to complete a double swoop of AOC from Arsenal and DD for £75mil and its reported Arsenal have accepted a £35mil bid for AOC, so hopefully we will be getting the fee we want,

though it will be a loss to the team

I'm going to be quite frank..it would be absolute dog mess business to sell Danny Drinkwater whether we have a 'replacement' lined up or not.

This lad is a key part of the fabric of this club. You can't buy and replace players like Danny Drinkwater over night. Its been a mutual relationship between player and club over many years to get Danny to where he is today. Lets not kid ourselves. We are Leicester City and Danny was a key technician and the brain in the engine room of a title winning team.

So what do you do if Danny Drinkwater says I want to leave and have the chance to play Champions League football again ?

No, don't go down that line. We'll flirt with relegation if you do, I'm telling ya.

If we go the rest of the season with a first choice centre mid of James and Ndidi, we'll be in trouble.

You politely advise him that he signed a 4 year contract last summer on an increased wage.  We gave him financial security so can we please have some loyalty in return.

Agreed but it simply doesn't happen like that. Drinkwater's head is all but gone. You'll have the impact on his own performance and those around him. Just like Mahrez until the realisation by him he's got to improve for a move.

We played Mahrez well in setting a figure. If LCFC play their cards well, they could take Chelsea to the cleaners.

If Liverpool can say no to Couthinio we can say no to DD being a sub at Chelsea. I think we need to be tough here.

The difference being Liverpool are in the CL and likely to be top 4.

Because an absolute stroll against Brighton, being 3-2 up at the Emirates when he left the pitch are evidence of that.

Agenda, much.

Why is that different?

Because Drinkwater has a chance to better himself by playing in the Champions League and battling for the title.

Coutinho is already playing Champions League and will be playing for trophies.

There's a genuine career progression for the player. It's harder to tell a player and recover his form in those circumstances.

A fair assessment on James will be established at end of October when the opposition have tailed off and we will have more of the ball. A lot of our fans are writing him off far too early.

if arsenal and manure away are the hardest in the league right now then I look forward to this season

If he is going it's likely because it's his last chance to make the World Cup. He had the season of his life with us and won the title but was passed over for Wilshere. Whilst you would think he might not get much game time, just playing for Chelsea will help his chances, even though Vardy and Maguire get in playing for us.

I hope he stays because as the song goes, Leicester loves him more than he will know. Immense player for us and part of the legends.

You think Leicester to Chelsea is a bigger career progression than Liverpool to Barca?

Barca are a huge club but Liverpool compete in the same ball park. Of course going to Chelsea and the English Champions is a huge step up from us.

It's not controversial, it's just plain wrong on Vardy. Mahrez might be more of a talent but there are players out there like him. Vardy is a one off. Most important player we have.

Correct.

And lest we forget, Mahrez has figures from open play in the PL of 4 goals and 4 assists from the last 40 odd games.

He has looked better in the last two games in that he seems to have found the ability to beat his man once again.

However, two or three great opportunities to lay on a chance for a team mate were squandered  once again on Sunday.

He's not been 'delivering the goods' for a long time.
