Kinda getting used to this idea that we sell our best players. We just need to make sure we replace strongly, like Southampton do.

That Manolo Gabbiadini fella will prove to be the best buy ever over the next couple of years.

That is guess work, I'm dealing in what we know and so far we have spent that cash.

Who said anything about statement of intent? Fact is we've spent good money for a club our size over the last two windows. On top of all the increased contracts, the money from Europe has mostly been spent.

If it hasn't you have to factor in other things like ground expansion possibility, expensive contracts need paying for over   4/5 years, plus the fact we might want to keep a bit in reserve to cover the unknown.

Its not guess work, what we know is Mahrez has a price, should that be matched he will be gone.

We spent £23m net after winning the league, is that good money?

if we end up selling slim and Drinkwater we could break even to date on transfer activity over the last 2 seasons, its not exactly

("It will take a huge amount of money, possibly 10 billion Thai Baht (£180m), to get there. But that doesn't put us off. I am asking for three years and we'll be there.")

the intent that was spoken about and that was before any income was made from Winning the league and Champions league money.

why are we bending over just coz chelski come knocking....  our owner have missed the chance to send out a clear message... instead this just invites bids for our best.... sad day if danny is allowed to leave.  He set his ambitions aside when he signed up for the dosh.

where is the leadership in allowing this?

He's set his ambition aside by joining Chelsea?

£40m for Drinkwater. Come on. I'd drive him to their ground for that. He has not done that much without Kanté by his side IMO. The 'quarterback' role did not work at all last season. He has clearly based his game on Scholes but has a fraction of the talent and pass completion. Expect to get stick for this, but we should bite their arm off for £40m.

As long as we invest it in a genuinely quality replacement, then it will be good business. I'm not happy with the options we've got at the minute if he goes.

I just hope we've screwed 40m out of them. If they're paying anything less in the current market and when he still has 4 years left on his contract then they've had our pants down again. Even if he wants to go, just tell him tough, you've got 4 years left on your contract, mate.

This and he isn't as dynamic in getting in and around the box for shooting opportunities either.

If the rumours about his injury are true I can see why the club is willing to cash in now which makes both football and business sense.

Your entitled to your opinion but imo you underestimate his value in so many ways....irrespective of injuries he has been a massive part of the last 5 years - it's a sad day and another one of the untouchables moves on......
