I totally respect this opinion too. He will forever be a part of our folklore. 

It's not just death and taxes though. Change is the other certainty. The mooted price is a good one for this change to happen.

If it was £30m a couple of weeks ago i'd have drove him down myself!But the clock's ticking and do we trust the DOF to get an able replacement?We shall see.

Jesus Christ.... yes it is guess work, you have absolutely no idea if Mahrez will go, you have absolutely no idea if we've spent that money already and you have absolutely no idea if we would end up spending more money on a replacement. I would suggest a net spend of £115m over three years is good money. £45m net more than Liverpool and Chelsea.  £75m more than Stoke. On top of huge pay rises for the whole squad pretty much, which everyone seems to ignore. That needs paying for over 3/4/5 years. Plus, just because you have money, doesn't mean you need to go out and spend every penny. That money could also be used to keep our spend higher than other clubs for a good number of years.

the intent that was spoken about and that was before any income was made from Winning the league and Champions league money.

But we haven't sold them have we and we haven't signed their replacements yet either.

 

I'm sorry, people can't moan about not spending money when we quite clearly have. Then say "oh well you can't use those figures to prove it because we might sell people before the window". I'm using facts, you are using guess work. If we sell a load of players and don't get replacements and we won't expand the ground and the money does vanish, then by all means moan about it. But that's not the case currently.

 

The owners never said that to any English press, they never said it to the fans... that was bluster to Thai press and nothing more.

N'didi maybe good, James steady...(Mendy and Iborra unknown)... but Drinky makes us tick, so wish him away carefully.... we've not had a midfielder like him since Izzet and Lennon, he's matured into a fine player and when he plays well we play well.... he ****ing quality and if we lost him you best pray to the footballing gods that Iborra or Mendy are just as good, because if not we're in a spot of bother.

 

United walked through our midfield at the weekend, without Drinkwater we lack calmness and composure. I would be gutted if he went, equally I'd be worried too.

You can't include Kante in this. If we could have kept him, we would. He had a clause and it was met by Chelsea. End of and move on.

 

Drinky is different - makes me a bit depressed even though he didn't play particularly well last year. No-one did but he was by far the best of a bad bunch early on in the season. Either got injured or lost interest towards the end but he's still part of our fabric and I don't want him to leave.

It's just some poxy report from France. The fella who broke the story for the telegraph has seemed pretty insistent that we wanted £40m and that the fee was ready to head north of £30m, as their last £25m bid was too short of our valuation.

Seem to remember them walking through it a damn site more the season before... and Chelsea and Liverpool, all with DD in the team. Not suggesting he's worse than the others, but lets not pretend he and we weren't capable of being absolute shit with him in the team.

United walked through our midfield at the weekend, without Drinkwater we lack calmness and composure. I would be gutted if he went, equally I'd be worried too. 

They'd have walked through it with him too :(
