Here's the direct quote from LCFC when his position as Director of Football was confirmed.

Jon assumed the Club’s Director of Football responsibilities in December, following the departure of Terry Robinson, and will now take on the role on a permanent basis.

Applying his considerable experience in player development, built during a 16-year association with Leicester City, Jon will oversee the Club’s entire football operation through Academy, Development and First Team levels and the development and application of the Club’s football philosophy.

Jon will also maintain his position as head of the Club’s successful Category 1 Academy – a position he has held since 2003.

Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha, Leicester City Vice Chairman, said: “Jon has done an excellent job managing the responsibilities of the Director of Football role during the last eight weeks, including the demands of the January transfer window.

Pretty clear what his role is. I draw your attention to the "jon will oversee the club's entire football operation" bit. His role does not end with just negotiating deals he's responsible for everything to do with the football side of the club. He's well paid to do it and the fact that this is a right mess ultimately rests on his desk. No ifs no buts no maybes.

Whether or not we win any appeal as a director of LCFC with direct responsibility to manage the football side of things he has to take responsibilty for what goes on under his watch. It may be unfair but that is the way business works. As a senior manager he should have processes in place to ensure this kind of thing does not happen.

The club secretary deals with registrations etc. I don't believe he reports to Rudders.

Thank you.  You have summed up everything in a much better way than I did.

Shakespeare walked into a Pub..

And the owner said...

You're Barred!

This joke would be the winner of the Edinburgh Festival's "Palme de Face" award...

Other punchlines included

"No eye dear"

"Because he was a fun guy"

and

"Wears the soap. Yes, it does"

its FIFA, surely we can get enough cash for all this whole mess to go away:ph34r:

by the time we even get any sort of news about it all it will probably be Jan anyway

Probably the crux of it - parts of the organisation want to be seen as beyond that kind of stuff - if only we wanted to organise a World Cup ..............
