Is it the casual racism an inconvenient truth though?

This is obviously a far less extreme example than Liam Neeson's, but how many of the 'outraged' lib met elite would prefer their kids to be married to a white person than someone of a different race? I would guess most.

I'd suggest if Neeson spent a week looking for a black guy to kill and didn't find one, he wasn't looking very hard.

And him in Harlem,at a Basketball game..!!!

Sorry, but being a street-wise cynic that also made me laugh

but I agree with Many posters...He is being hung out to dry, from people with an agenda. They should listen to his full comment.....!!!

as soon as Black or white are mentioned, journalists and others conveniently close their ears and minds....

As a proud member of the Liberal Metropolitan Elite (although I am more prone to incredulity and disappointment than outrage) I can honestly say that I would have no problem with my children marrying someone of a different race.

Race is of course, only a tiny part of it. Culture and religion can cause issues, and whilst I'd be happy for my children to marry, I dunno, someone from Thailand I'd be sad if they decided to bugger off there permanently with my grandchildren, but I could have that problem if they married a New Zealander.

My Gran, on the other hand, who's 98 and still with us, has always said we could marry anybody as long as they're not Indian. She has literally no reason for thinking this way, at least not one she can articulate

To be fair I am a reluctant member of the lib met elite (or so my non London based friends tell me) and I agree with you so maybe my comments were a bit exaggerated and made with haste on reflection.

Well I'm sure there ARE people that brag of their liberal credentials whilst still carrying around a whole bag of prejudices. I'm sure I do, just not in the context of what we're talking about here.

Infact, I've just thought of one. Given that I know more about it than a lot of folk, given my own history and knowing lots of people in the field, I'm disproportionately, I think, wary of people with obvious mental health problems.

And I was doing so well

Hard to understand what Liam's agenda is here. Unlikely to be true, as 10 minutes reflection  would give anyone with even the merest crumb of intelligence ample opportunity to see how dumb it is to blame an entire race/creed/colour/nationality for the transgressions of one individual. Let alone walking around for a week, coshed up, 'looking for a black man'

People just don't operate like that. Not outside of crappy films, anyway.

Maybe he's remembering some film script he read that was too clichéd for even him to make.

Or maybe he's just finding that life's a bit messy when you haven't got someone else writing the words for you...

Imagine he had come across this random "black" person on his week out. This is arsehole racism and admitting it is doesnt make it ok.

Nobody, not even Liam himself, has said it's ok.

He shouldn't have said it, not because I agree or disagree but I'm already bored of seeing the discussion about it

He deserves further stick for playing the same ****ing character every film

Out of all the films he's done, my favourite scene of his is the one where he buys children's cereal in Ted 2.

Everyone has prejudices. Some choose to give in to them because it's easier.

This x10

You don't just magically shed what was acquired by your upbringing. You make a conscious choice to not let your internal prejudices determine your actions or define your behavior. You actively work against them because that's what a truly moral and principled life demands.

All about keeping the bag just above the water level as you pour slowly onto the bag.

Personally I think it tastes nicer than milk in after. Smoother and less bitter.

Most people are socialists but they are..

A) Too dumb to know/admit it.

B) Too scared to admit it.

I am not either...Proud to shout it...:yahoo:...:bounce:..:chant:

It's just in the last 30 years or so,we have had an embarrassing group of so called Labour politicians, who wouldn't recognise a socialist,if they

shared the same orgy!!!  Maybe, just maybe Kinnock was the last one,but he had nobody and nothing behind him....

the Labour party has lost the people.....We have the most incompetent group of conservat ives in history........

We unfortunately also have the worst self-serving group of Opposition party members, running through the corridors of the "powerless-braindead --oiks"

in our history!!!!

In the most important period and on the the biggest issue we have had since the decision in entering the EU.........No strong govt/opposition  demanding

cross-party involvement...holding back on unnecessary elections through the decision period, but with all sides being part of the equation including

cross-party ideas....Brexit decided, had to be fought for both sides socialist-conservatives,even liberals, including the Irish-contingent....

they simply have failed across all parties the electorate and those Brexiters....(I was remain).  The social representatives got their whole tact and mandate

completely wrong......!!!

The socialists missed the boat...no the people claiming to be socialists missed the boat.!!
