We're Leicester Cleveland, we're not meant to be happy.

Fixed for the benefit of American foxes.

I said this last season. I don't think it will ever be as good being a Leicester fan again. Nothing can top that title triumph. Even if we were to win it again or the champs league I don't think it would top the sheer disbelief of what we achieved 15-16.

We have the memories. That in itself should mean Leicester fans can always be happy by revisiting the 15-16 season.

We still have unfinished business in the FA cup also. So winning that would have make us happy again.

Its a bizarre situation we find ourselves in lol

This! The 2015-16 season was the biggest emotional high I've experienced in sports. Bigger even than some personal experiences! It would be incredible to feel that again but it's as unlikely to happen again as it did when it happened.

A lot of my foreign friends often ask "how does it feel knowing you'll never top that?" But then another friend - a lifelong Juventus fan countered with "but what they achieved is the greatest achievement in sports and he saw it live!"

I think it's important to have context as to where we are and what we've experienced as a club and as supporters.

Not presuming to speak for other “new fans”, but I am mostly happy with the club.  I hopped on this train to enjoy something new, and within six months it was taking me on a journey no Cleveland team could.

Not every match day is going to be a joy, so what?  While last summer was a big opportunity lost, I believe we have quality incoming that will soon enable a more open, aggressive style against most sides.  Journey not a destination, to coin a phrase.

If I had decided to support one of the big six, the combination of hype, expectations and money wasted would piss me right off, year in and year out.

Just want us to play football we've just gone backwards it's like watching pearson allover again

Did you actually watch us? A few dodgy spells aside we played some bloody good stuff, won two leagues, lost two of the most dramatic play offs you'll ever see and stayed up with the greatest escape the league has ever seen. If you found most of that boring, then god help you.

I'd like us to go back to the foundations that got us promoted us from the championship and ultimately that won us the league. Sign players to fit our system and that have a bit of hunger. Even teams like Burnley have their identity and ethos, we seem to have lost our way a bit.

Recruitmemt has been nothing short of a shambles the past few windows so that'd be the first reshuffle I'd like to see be made. It's certainly not all doom and gloom though and I think some of our fans, particularly the new breed need a dose of reality.

lets get back to being that in your face, pest of a team that nobody likes to play. Think we've turned a bit too nice

This.

We are now too nice and too easy to play against.

Lets play attacking football, then I'll be happy.

I'm generally a bit less interested now we've hit the heights and we'll never surpass what we did - everyone feels that a bit. But the thing that is most disappointing isn't the fact we're not competing at the top level, it's the fact that we're playing pretty dull, uninspiring football, seeming to have lost the identity, the purpose and the tight-knit nature of the squad that made us enjoyable to support even when we were bottom in 14/15.

When we're we?  I fuching hated the title winning season. Always thought we'd bugger it up. Much happier now, whinging like feck.

Spot on, there was no fun to be had after the turn of the year, it was all too nervous, BUT that Everton game? That made everything worthwhile.

What is the identity of the team exactly?

Are we a defensive team? No? A possession based team? No! A grande-it-out team? No! We were a counter attacking team! But the problem with being a counter attacking team, other teams will be expecting it. Mahrez is the lifeline, get him the ball and run on the counter, now teams are doubling him and forcing him to stay deep, the counter attacking style is pretty much nullified.

When you lose your Identity, you lose your goal. And when you lose your goal, you become nothing but a blind dog biting on a poisonous tree!

Has much as I like foxestalk forum...lets not use it as a measuring stick...positive or negative.

Our local fan base spreads further out than this forum, and the negs on this forum, I wont let them put me down,

the happiness and highs I share, including quality critic.

City are no more no less, than where they end up at the EOS...we are Leicester we really should know who/what we are.

CS gets my support...if he and team become monotonous, thts for another day, but early doors, early doors.!!!

Bit harsh lol

But he did a lot for the CAVs, I don't really blame him for getting fed up with being the second choice, don't know how will you take this because I'm a worriers fan, but he didn't get enough credit, when the CAVs win, its lebron's greatness, and when they lose, the supporting cast gets most of the blame.

He has Kobe's mamba mentality, it's his way or the highway.

There's always hysteria when we don't win but I don't believe it's any different with other clubs.

Even the man united and chelsea forums probably have people who give out about players who play for them or  the media being out to bring them down a peg or two.

Personally I'm a bit disappointed to be in the lower half of the table right now but I didn't expect to compete in the league at the start of this decade let alone win it so I'll be content for quite a while.

There was I'd say about 100 Leicester fans over here before 2016. When you think of all the hundreds of thousand who worship united or Liverpool and that those minority got to experience Leicester winning you can't but be satisfied.

We will be telling our grandkids about the year we won the league. We will always have that happy memory. And the champions league run.

Hopefully we can win the FA cup sometime and kick on so we can be challenging at least for a European spot in the near future.

For those that were not there 6-7 seasons ago when we were in Div2/3, they wouldnt be complaining quite so loudly or constantly that we are not in the top half of the Prem League if they had suffered the years of misery that many of us others have in the lower leagues.

This makes it all the sweeter for me, as lifelong 40 something fan, I've seen the whole bloody lot...  I've enjoyed massive highs (playoffs/ league cups) and endured massive lows (relgstion to third tier)...   because you, I and many others have experienced this, it makes the last two years all the sweeter.   Imagine starting from a position where you expect to win the league, there is no way you could appreciate it as much when you see your team lift the trophy.  Some of our fans (all are welcome by the way) may have been spoiled to soon.  I don't blame them (although a sense of perspective is always handy in life) I simply pity them a little, as they can't have enjoyed it as much as I did.

i will die happy and dine out on 14/15 for the rest of my life...  any future heroics will just be a Brucey bonus and I'm sure I'll enjoy it :scarf:

The thing is we've seen worse days than these, it's kinda a glass half full or empty scenario -

I felt a lot worse about the relegation to League 1, losing that game to Watford, losing to Cardiff in the playoffs after running them so close (especially when they were such a good team that year) i can still not just remember but feel those moments and right now it doesn't feel anywhere near as bad as that - although there's always the possibility of relegation with us so you never know. Any new fans probably just have the wrong expectations of Leicester lol

Extending the question further - how many Premier League fans are honestly delighted right now with their season - 5 at most? that's 15 teams left who feel they should be doing better. We've had a rough start of games and it's messed with everyone's heads a bit.

I wouldn't say say i'm unhappy, just majorly frustrated and disappointed we've failed to build and kick on, I didn't want major changes but the club have failed to upgrade on the simple things.

Foundations were laid thanks to a surprise title win, but they've crumbled almost instantly.

Like him or not there is a very good argument Nigel Pearson laid the foundations for the title win, the fact alot of those foundations aren't even here anymore are a reason to be concerned and the reason there is a danger we may fall even further behind than we were.

I didn't think I'd ever see the day Leicester City fans ramble on about 'identity'.

Whats been lost in all the negativity is fans actually supporting the players and manager during the game. Instead moaning like f***k about a midfield issue they can't do anything to change or alter.

Foxestalk at the moment is not far off looking like an Arsenal forum.
