Someone needs sacking

Shakespeare insinuated  drinkwater was forcing a move, so was highly probable that Chelsea were going to meet the value.

This was known around the club for most of the summer he wanted out, if we have a player refusing to play/ ' injured', a replacement should have been sorted in plenty of time, let's be honest, why would you want to keep a player like that, and if Chelsea had offered 30 mill he'd have forced it.

A lot of guess work in there though, the faked injury refusing to play stuff is nothing but a figment of fans imaginations and has no basis.

It's a cock up, we can argue about when we should have got replacements etc. But long and short of it is DD shouldn't have been let go unless Silva was nailed on.

Would someone not have needed sacking if FIFA had allowed it to go through today?

Yes for me. It's evidence enough. This is the third window on the spin we've ****ed up now. It is this above all that will be the biggest hinderance to our supposed ambition and probably even PL status if it goes on.

We are a laughing stock. Another West Ham.

I'd argue 4 windows as we were shockingly poor in the final days of the January window when we won the league.

Bound to still be a learning curve for the owners. Shown a decent slice of nous getting Pearson in at OH Leuven, odd team selections at times but ideal to build the infrastructure.

Will only be a matter of time (hopefully) that they realise that having a long tongue but little experience doesn't constitute being a director of football.

My point was that Silva was never a number one choice.

Correct we knew drinky was going anyway but we should have been actively in the market for a creative midfielder regardless of the Drinky situation.

Still makes me chuckle, not kick a ball all summer due to injury, first day of training after deadline day, footage of him running around in a 5 aside, and fit to play us next game.

lol in fairness doesn't need a lot imagination or guesswork.

Either way we agree he was going all summer, and should have been replaced or refused due to lack of time, if the recruitment department couldn't see what everybody could see, he was going Chelsea no matter what.

Honestly don't think it was the case, when he was injured in the summer he was missing from the training pictures. As soon as CS said he was back in training he appeared in the pictures. Other than perhaps one game where their interest was stepped up I don't think anything was faked.

I don't get this "we knew all summer" stuff either, we knew a few weeks before it happned.

His guess work is nearly bang on though Babs either him meerly guessing or hearing it from other people from what they've heard etc.

He was never injured in the running up to him leaving.. i can promise you that.

We knew all summer bit it was leaked to the press Chelsea wanted him, and he wanted to go, it was only ever the price stopping it.

After he left, Shakespeare admitted that Danny had told them he wanted to go early on, and it was down to the powers above.

I am not in the know, just read interviews and speculation throughout the summer

We did not know all summer at all, it was only reported in August for starters.

After the way he was shafted by Rudkin I doubt it.

err.. well the idea of course would be for him to replace Rudkin if he was getting the D of F position...

Out of the last 14 signings and 157m spent only 2 players have managed to become 1st team regulars. Maguire and Ndidi. That is woeful. This Silva fiasco is just the latest in what has been an absolute shambles of recruitment policy for the past 4 Windows.

That's the hope and dream but Rudkin won't leave for a good while yet.

I really can't be arsed with debating this with you, seen you post, will keep going because you have to be right.

A month was clearly not enough notice then, a month over the summer, when players come back, is a long period, all summer in football terms, and I'm sure drinkwater was aware at the end of the season, but sorry I will admit your right if it makes you happy

I prefer to deal in facts, you want to say we had three or four weeks of knowing about there interest then there is no disagreement. But if you're slating people about something, suggesting they had months longer than they did is just wrong.

DD shouldn't have been let go end of story, there is no point in even attempting to point blame in other areas, that's enough.

I was hoping he would be the one who got some of the blame over this and will be sacked!
