Rusko187 Posted 27 October 2017 Posted 27 October 2017 Not really concerned about his interview ability but do we think it might be a concern when he's trying to communicate to the players and staff? Hopefully I'm wrong. Doubt he could employ my tactic when I'm abroad. Me: Beer please Waiter: Scuse? Me: BEER PLEASE, B E E R.. BEER! NOW

nettle Posted 27 October 2017 Posted 27 October 2017 On the flip side Peter Taylor came across well when being interviewed and he was a shight manager.

Correct. As did Martin Allen, Holloway, Sven. Not saying Puel is going to be a cast iron success by any means, but using his media handling as a gauge as to how he'll do a job when he hasn't managed a single game yet is a new level of dribble our fans have managed to reach.

Could be because it came over as a new level of Pigeon English Lullaby Drivel that was broadcast....waiting for the real test......i.e. what happens on the field of play, it's all that matters.

pazzerfox Posted 27 October 2017 Posted 27 October 2017 Just listened to the interview. He sounds like a very nice, polite, intelligent Frenchman but about as inspiring as Jeremy Corben!!

No, he definitely has better English than Claudio. But he speaks quietly and thoughtfully, which (I think) tricks the listener into thinking his English is worse than it is. But his vocabulary is much larger than Claudio's, and he expresses ideas with greater detail and nuance.

Hey, if Eden Hazard says he was the most influential coach in his career, I say we give him a shake. He is very much a teacher and a thinker and a planner, and he is precisely what Leicester needs for the long-term. His focus on teaching his players, especially younger players, will (if he is as good at it as reported) convey the sort of competitive advantage a team like Leicester needs to cultivate to regularly feature in the top half of the table and play in Europe. If you can develop young talent into Prem-quality starters, you don't have to attract the elite talent in Europe to be competitive. The players who won the league are aging out. This is probably Vardy's last season if he is serious about trying elsewhere. Players like Vardy, Morgan, Huth, Simpson, Fuchs, Shinji, we know they are all 30 or older. We have to retool, and our efforts to do so to this point have failed. Puel is a terrific talent evaluator and developer, he will get more from our younger players, and bring in players who will become contributors. The guy is quiet. 100% agree, and it doesn't impress, as his peers are far more assertive and he stands out negatively as a consequence. However, if the players give him a shot, I think the team will finish top-half, and by this time next season, we will be a dangerous side for even the elite teams in the league. I seriously doubt Leicester has ever had a more accomplished program builder. He has a comprehensive plan for how LCFC becomes a power in the league. Now that we have hired the guy, we need to have a bit of patience and allow him the time he needs to reshape the team.

Too cringeworthy and painful - especially when he commits that cardinal French sin of missing the 's' off plurals: 'Ze player are good' etc. Communication is everything (eh, Carabao?), so can we please get Appleton to do all the post-match interviews? This just isnt sitting comfortably with me.

I do not know much about him to be fair, i just went off first impressions. But if what you say is true then I am prepared to give the man a decent chance.
