Oh my, the Austrians won't be too pleased now. I see they've got their pitchforks out already.

We've got a war on our hands, and you're to blame.

You and your online translation!

Quietschende bum Zeit!

I do think he should be made to have English lessons as part of his contract. But that’s just because I think all foreigners should make an attempt to learn English when they work here as I would take French lessons if I worked in France.

Having said that I have a huge admiration for the bloke. I respect the fact that he’s put himself out there and took part in a 40 minute Facebook live video on his first day at the club. I watched an interview that he did in France and there was quite a lot of laughter so it’s clear to me that he has a personality but it’s masked by his poor grasp of the English language.

Lets all back him. I’m sure we can do well under him. Good luck Claude.

He'll probably have an English-interpreter from a local college arranged by the club, which happened when Mancini and Sousa were here (they both got taught English by Italian and Portuguese teachers respectively from a college during their times at Leicester).

You'd be in the minority there, Brits make the most ignorant self-entitled foreigners going.

So who actually speaks French in our squad? Riyad, Slim, Benny, Silva, Mendy.. is that it? Looks like Riyad will be doing a fair bit of translating, his English is by far the best of them lot

His English is better than 90% of English speakers' French. That's worth something. If he was a Grandpa he'd sound just like Don Claudio.

I think we can make it work. The language of football knows no tongue.

Some of our fans are pathetic. Using an interview as an excuse to hide the fact that you don't want to give the guy a fair shot at it.

So what if he's not the most charismatic guy around? Claudio was very charismatic, didn't stop him getting the bag. So what if his interviews are boring. Pearson gave wildly entertaining  interviews, didn't stop him getting the bag  so what if he plays a defensive manner, so did Pearson, so did Claudio at the end and so did Shakespeare for the most part but it hasn't stopped all three being highly thought of amongst us supporters.

Give the guy a fair chance at it. If he's poor then you can bristle with self importance and claim you were right all along but at least wait until he does something to deserve criticism.

Fans have to relate to the manager though otherwise when times get tough there's no bond to back them. There's nothing worse than a bad performance or defeat and then the manager being unable to get any audible message across to the fans to appease them. After a while this will wear thin and cause hostility, we aren't a positive bunch. He's got to start well and stay doing well otherwise there'll be a lot of discontent from our fans.

I get that but fans wrote him off before he said a word. Too many people bought into what was already being said about him.

Personally, I totally couldn't relate to Pearson, I thought the guy was an utter bam but it didn't stop me thinking he was a good manager and that he knew what he was doing.

At least wait for bad performances and poor results before attacking his personality.

Believe it or not there are cultural differences in the way people speak. Not just language differences but also the way things are delivered.

Can't say I'm surprised at the French stereotypes that have been posted.

We need balance.

Yes, too many people being over negative writing him off before he's even took a game.

On the other hand to say you have huge admiration for a new manager for doing an interview and then doing a personality profile from hearing him laugh in an interview seems a bit desperate and ridiculous.

Let the man get on with his business. Let's not be nasty and judgemental but also we shouldn't treat him like second coming of Christ for no reason.

I agree with you on that, I actually think he's going to do ok here as he'll start well and that'll afford him the opportunity to get the best out of these players but I think there'll be a general grumbling amongst our fans about him, like there was with pearson who was an arsehole so always had his haters.
