Hell there are some unpleasant folk on this forum !!!

As long as nothing upsets your precious football club-we won the Premier league training at Belvoir drive FFS.

I'm seeing the need for a new training set up just wouldn't want to trash a well established golf club to achieve it.Its just not necessary.

Whmy -are Kirby open to 150 new members? Its Lakki and Andrew plus a n other.

Think they've got enough on their plate at present.

Don't think they'd cope at the moment with more! lol

Belvoir Drive is outdated and too small

It’s not just that, they have no privacy at Belvoir drive with the houses over looking the place

I think when they (sellers)  asked for a price this was taken into consideration . There's other golf clubs , 9 holes are being kept  tho . 2 years is the time to complete . Belvoir Drive is outdated and too small , so it was going to be somewhere its just there !! Get over it ( you've got 2 years to anyway like i said) , this is happening trust me .

So you and Bert are saying that Botcheston Golf Course is 100% going to be the location of our new training ground ?

Can’t see why anyone’s really bothered where a training ground is, it’s not as though anyone will get an invite to train there and all you’ll see is a big sign with king power on it

True, although as this forum is somewhat of a local thing for local people there are a few that like to know this stuff.

I just don't like the names involved, BOTCHeston & FOREST hills doesn't quite match up to Belvoir Drive in Alestone

Forest hills used to be the trainer of choice for the Football yob when I was young

It makes sense seeing as football is such a lucrative business these days. I’ve thought for years that our training ground is in an absolute sh*thole of a location. God knows what all of signings throughout the years have thought about it when they first came.

Top Bundesliga clubs have open access Fans areas within their training selling alcohol so fans can come and watch their players train and socially engage with them.  What is so great/secretive about LCFC that we need to protect their privacy as if it is an MOD weapons testing site?

Are you concerned that the likes of Bayern Munich might have installed some spies in the houses so they can secretly record LCFCs "revolutionary" training methods?

Heres a good clue to the true story.

Ring Forest Hill Golf Club and ask if you can book a wedding in the function suite next May -  the answer will be no sorry not taking bookings.

Looks like I may be running naked around the King Power after all.!

Seems like they may retain land near the boroughs for a nine hole course but access and clubhouse

will be a problem.

If you are going to join another club, don't leave it too long, with six hundred golfers looking for a

club, suspended joining fees will soon be re-introduced!

Let us all know where you want the sponsership monies sent to!

Being serious here and quite ironic given this, my Mother is actually seeing Lekki tonight for a meal..

Had asked her to ask him, discreetly of course, whether it's true the club has firm interest/the business has agreed for the club to use the land.

Just hoping he doesn't have an account on here..

Colly - Perhaps you would like to give us an example of something that is important to you and we,ll offer it to King Power.to close and  knock down.

The golf club has a history and ,tradition and was pretty unique in some ways .very much a working mans club all welcome equal rights for ladies and juniors.

A valued and very well supported leisure facility.Probably 150 folk up there today.

Obviously we,ll see what unfolds. It is very raw for many of us when there are countless other possible sites around the county that could be considered.

But when Andrew and Laki get the £££ I’m afraid the members won’t get any consideration. Business is Business

1- How the hell can it be a win win.A well established golf club 600 members  with 26 years of history will close full stop.It is privately owned so the owners can do what they like but people are leaving in numbers this spring when fees are due- due to speculation -the current owners  are seriously damaging their own business and will continue to do so until they clarify.

2 -My daughter worked there last weekend and the staff knew nothing

3-I was out on Thursday with two lads both past captains/committee very well informed and nothing other than a few senior members getting very hot under the collar about the rumour.

4-The site is just not suitable,Its cold foggy undulating footpaths limited services.Planning could easily take 18 months and no guarantee various covenants etc all manner of objections.

5-The players travel all over the world in the course of their careers so a few minutes in the traffic on Lutterworth road at 10 am should be no problem

Having said all that until the owners make a statement to the members it remains .a question mark?

I'll see if the Birch needs extra runners in May.

SO to recap, just so we're all on the same page:

We're definitely getting a new training ground

And we're spending £60m on it (that's TWO Slimanis, SIXTY Jamie Vardys or ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY-ONE AND A HALF Riyad Mahrezs depending on which way you look at it).

Which means we're aiming to emulate Spurs and Man City OR Villa and Sunderland.

And it's going to be at a golf course.

Which is definitely, definitely going to be Forest Hills at Botcheston, according to people associated with the golf club.

Except it's definitely, definitely NOT, according to people associated with the golf club.

Also, golf is now apparently a crucial public service, like the NHS and the BBC.

Hope that helps

Big thanks @urban spaceman - without these clarifications I would be so confused as to what's happening regarding our new training ground. Does your insider knowledge extend to whether the catering and cleaning at the new training centre will be put out for tender, as I'm considering bidding for it.....or will it still be the under 16's mashing the tea and cleaning the sh1thouses?

Correct they do but it’s only open on selected dates, predominantly when the international breaks are in operation

im not saying we have “revolutionary” training methods

that we should hide but having a private secluded Training ground can only surely be a positive change

Is this the same course that's on sky sports golf at the minute with the Triby tour  2017 Championship of Leicestershire?

@dynamarkin particular.

Following from my earlier post above:

Leki (Forest Hill Golf Club) mentioned that LCFC have paid a deposit to stop other buyers looking around this location.

LCFC want to build FIFTEEN football pitches, plus usual physio treatment units, offices etc - around a 150-acre site.

But, as mentioned by someone else on here, NOTHING has been signed - still at a very early stage.

He's annoyed (and quite rightly so imo) with the club as he wanted this to be a secret, but people from the club told others about this Forest Hill Golf Club proposal..

Owners are first class.

I trust their intentions towards the club completely even if they wing it when appointing managers.

How? Ranieri won them the title, Shakespeare saved them from relegation + kept the dream alive in the UCl and Puel seems very promising thus far.
