Thought that the route to the current training ground can be quite difficult at times where it is, which israther in the middle of a housing estate.

Think it'll be near to the Leicestershire side out towards Loughborough, as there's more scope to be both more visually-appealing and also helps the players like Schmeichel commute more easy in and out of the location.

6 miles away from the ground is not "the outskirts of the city" John.

Good news, mind.

We are massive!

Where Schmeichel commutes from is irrelevant, he won't be here forever.

I'd have thought the Lutterworth area would be ideal. J20 on the M1 and J1 on the M6 is about four miles away. It's also in Leicestershire and only 85 miles away from London which takes an hour in a car on a clear day when all the roadworks finally end. There may come a time when we have players who want to live within the vicinity of London and we can ferry them to and from London by helicopter.

Two clubs that invested heavily in new training facilities  -  Sunderland and Aston Villa....

Really positive news that we are potenially investing but this in itself does not guarantee that we will follow the Spurs and Man City sucess story....

Sunderland's facility cost 10 mill and was completed in 2003

bodymoor heath upgrade cost about the same and was ready 2007

I think we are talking about a rather larger spend !  for comparison, man city and spurs were in the region of 45/50 mill.

And slapped right next to the m1 with king power emblazoned on the side so everyone passing will see it, that’s what I would do anyway.

Like that idea except Leicester City Football Club instead of KP in big royal blue neon lights. It would a landmark for all M1'ers. Our own Angel Fox of the North East Midlands.

That's not to mention the general malaise at both clubs in the last 15 years. Spurs and Man City are closer to what we aspire to and we have we have owners that are willing to get us there. Sunderland and Villa have been going down the toilet for over a decade - funny how they've both mistreated Martin O'Neill in that time - that tells you what you need to know!

My point is that it doesnt necesssrily matter how you much you spend if you dont spend it wisely as expenditure does not necesssrily guarantee success

I think you will find that Sunderland's facilties were much much considered amongst "best in class" when they invested in 2003 so the fact it only cost £10m is not hugeley relevant as that was considered a "huge investment" in a training facility at that time......in same way that Man City and Spurs £50m investment is considered today

If you put a horse in a brand new stable, he'll still s**t in it...!  :)

I'm curious as to why this seems to be a more important/worthwhile investment now than a ground expansion.

Myself and others posted this months back, what the club have planned for us holds a very exciting future. We are in very good hands.

Correct.

No solid interest has been lodged, no contracts signed, no plans received or searches gone in.

Also no planning details on Hinckley & Bosworth or Blaby sites.

Rumours at the minute are exactly that, rumours.

Most games have made general sale this season, some not even sold out. There is no need for ground expansion.
