Wes Posted 16 November 2017 Posted 16 November 2017 Really hope Iborra is back. Aside from his goal he had a lot of influence over the game at Stoke
HighPeakFox Posted 16 November 2017 Posted 16 November 2017 Really don't like the idea of our side minus Iborra now.
Alf Bentley Posted 16 November 2017 Posted 16 November 2017 If Iborra is unfit, I'd favour a 3-8-0-0 formation: Schmeichel; Hamer; Jakupovic Simpson; Amartey; Morgan; Huth; Maguire; Dragovic; Fuchs; Chiwell

les-tah Posted 16 November 2017 Posted 16 November 2017 Wouldnt mind seeing the side that played in puels first game! no point in being overly defensive because it hasnt helped any of the other teams this year.

WE have to maintain the threat - either to put them on the back foot or to punish them. Our last few games against city have seen them ill prepared for counter attacks... you woudl expect them to be better prepared but I think they are blind to this. I doubt we can keep clean sheet against them so we have to score to get anything

I'm not sure the lads are blind to this - this is more about raising their game for one of the two teams which are pre-eminent in their movement this season. Outstanding defenders are as rare as outstanding strikers - we possibly have one such up-and-coming centre-back in Maguire. However good Fuchs, Morgan and Simpson are I'm not sure they'll be able to sustain concentration, cohesion and physical effort beyond a certain point in the game. I'm concerned about the stamina necessary to keep up a solid defence against these for 90+4 mins. We could do it when Kante was there but this is going to be a trial-by-fire for the lads. Mostly this is going to tax Puel's tactical nouse. It will be an intriguing afternoon for us and a nail-biter. Well said. I have no doubt we won't be able to keep a clean sheet (we will probably concede at least two) and convinced that the only way is trying to score more rather than keep them at bay. Nerve wracking game but I'm genuinely intrigued to see how Puel is going to handle it. Let's just hope Iborra will be fit for this game.
UPinCarolina Posted 16 November 2017 Posted 16 November 2017 I think that the lowered set of expectations plays right into our hands. We should be encouraging them to take us lightly. That said, I shudder to think of what we become without Iborra.
the fox Posted 16 November 2017 Posted 16 November 2017 keys for the game are: fullbacks and ndidi ben has to start and not as a left back! from what i saw they have 3 main weapons: 1- the goalkeeper and defense buildup play from the back, they love to pass it around and absorb pressure. gray and vardy (and even mahrez) should run themselves to the ground. they like to pull the midfield out of position so they can kill you in the counter attack. 2-triangular passing pattern behind the fullbacks! this is why ben should start, raheem will have a field day if he gets fuchs 1v1. they like to put their players 1v1, so the support from the wings is much needed 3-their left side! delph is pretty much playing as an extra mid when they have the ball which creates an advantage, but the positive is that we have an elite 1v1 player (mahrez) and a guy with amazing pace to beat his man (gray). when we get the ball, it should be directed to them. i trust that simmo can do a decent job vs sane but the tringular passing pattersn to break the fullbacks is a real problem especially after seeing that we get caught out of position a bit too much. n'did and iborra should clean the midfield. they have a tough job but i think they can manage. but most importantly is the switching between gray and mahrez, they need to find the right balance, fast!

Guest Posted 16 November 2017 Posted 16 November 2017 Is he that guy who played a few games for us during the season we were nearly relegated? or was that Jeff Schlupp?
DatfoxesKid23 Posted 16 November 2017 Posted 16 November 2017 If we win or even draw this we are top 4 material we have a point a prove so lets prove it. And piss them off with an iheanacho hat trick
brucey Posted 16 November 2017 Posted 16 November 2017 I think it would be tempting for Puel to start Nacho. Think it will be a bad idea if he does, though.
foxoffderby Posted 16 November 2017 Posted 16 November 2017 This game has goals written all over it. I can even see a Leicester win 3-2 to Leicester
biggs Posted 16 November 2017 Posted 16 November 2017 Haven't been a fan (not even close) of Amartey in our midfield but like what I see when he's at right back. Hoping to see more of him there.....thinking he plays tighter than Simpson and moves the ball better than Simpson. The key here will be to press them on the ball and to watch the through ball from their midfield. Maguire read the play well for England against Germany and Sane. Can only hope Morgan actually attempts to pass the ball out of the back but not holding my breath. Simpson the same along with Fuch's. We must be one of the only teams that fails so badly here.....not surprising we are on the back foot so much. Man City will pressure our back 4 so I expect hoof ball...... Hoping Puel has something clever up his sleeve to change the status quo.....we will need to keep possession of the ball somewhat
dynamark Posted 16 November 2017 Posted 16 November 2017 Chilwell at proper full back I wouldn't want.\he is not great onto his right side turning inside They will mess with us on that side for sure and we will need numbers.weighted that way
WigstonWanderer Posted 16 November 2017 Posted 16 November 2017 Kasper Simpson Morgan Maguire Amartey/Marc Ndidi Iborra Chilwell Mahrez Vardy Gray
Wymsey Posted 16 November 2017 Posted 16 November 2017 Hoping Gray performs well in this one, and doesn't be too greedy.

Nick Posted 17 November 2017 Posted 17 November 2017 So does anybody actually know if Iborra is categorically fit to play?
