If we exclude PK goals, we see that:

- Vardy has scored four goals his last 20 matches.

- Vardy has not scored away from King Power since game 1 against Arsenal.

- Vardy has scored ONE GOAL against non top-6 sides this season.

Vardy is 30, and his game has always relied upon his superior athleticism/speed, and his tenacity. He is often lauded for scoring against the top teams, but when I watch, it seems obvious that the top teams are the sides that do not specifically gameplan to take Vardy out of the mix, likely believing their talent to be adequate to offset what he can do, and if they play their game, they will contain him. However, when he goes up against "lesser" sides which gameplan to take him out of the game, he struggles massively.

All this said, I believe there are possible reasons for Vardy's decline in production that do not include his physical decline. Certainly we have had midfield problems this season (frankly, we did today as well), and there was a stretch of time service has been rather poor. But I have also noticed him failing to capitalize on a number of opportunities this season. I know this is a funny time to mention it, with him having just scored vs. Man U., but for Leicester to make the next step forward, we need to score more goals. If Iheanacho is not the answer, what do we do?

He has lost a yard of pace so yes he is declining from a physical point of view, although I think his overall game and play is still getting better and his work rate is still fantastic.

No. His shot conversion rate is one of the best, if not the best, of regular starting strikers in the division. Hell, compare him to the entire man city side - 25.8% for him, 22.4% for man city; given a chance he's more likely to score than man city are. If you're seeing a problem with his goal scoring, it's the chances not being created, in part because he's playing to bring the trio behind him into action more.

Spot on!

He's a terrific finisher (goal v Utd is the perfect example of that) but the issue is he hasn't  had the type of service that he's enjoyed in the past. Puel's more patient style certainly hasn't benefited Vardy, that's not to say it won't, but I have no doubts that with quality, frequent service, Vardy will thrive.

He's the best striker we've had in a long time and I believe he's got plenty left in the tank. Remember, he's a 'young' 30 year old given the spells he's had out of the game so in footballing terms he's a whippersnapper.

Wait... is this a negative stat? lol

I do often wonder if we are limited due to vardy dictating the forward role, but when it works who could complain and lets be honest the blokes seen off about 70m worth of talent with 3 managers, so he must doing something right

Puel has done many great things so far. But he hasn't quite worked out how to get the best out of Vardy.

Many 'Great ' things?......

I mean in terms of the squad he has done a great job. Today and Palace were shocking but getting us up to 8th and trying to implement a better passing style has been great. Still a work in progress but onwards and upwards.

Vardy is more isolated under Puel. Gray, Mahrez and Albrighton are more involved but it is as a detriment to Jamie’s game.

Completely agree. The more focus there is on better passing game the less we will look for Jamie on the break. Hopefully he can adapt.

But when we have played well or even in patches how many goals has he been involved in?

Genuine question cutback to albrighton at west ham. Involved for Shinji at newcastle. He's not getting the service at times. But he's much more playing a team part for me than he was at the end of shakeys reign as we had resorted to route one long balls he couldn't win and no one was within 50 yards of him at times. At least in the main the longer balls are into chanels and players are getting in the box.
