Has anyone been to The Western since the new management takeover and refurb?

 

It's usually our pre-match pub but the talk of a Cafe has potentially put us off. Any insight?

It’s been refurbished nicely, the only main thing I noticed was they were counting people in and out as they’re supposedly limited to 150 people on matchdays.

I knew that would be the case as soon as it was known it was taken on my the landlady of the Peel. She is militant on the door counting folk in and always on at people to be quite. Really does suck the life out the the Peel I thought that attitude.

I genuinely spent a good 15 minutes once pretending to be a Scottish millionaire just so she would let me in for a titanic stout.

I'm not convinced she fell for it, she probably just wanted me out the way so she could get back to her favourite past time of turning away thirsty football fans.

I like Blue Boar but it f uckin stinks in there. Always classic when you ask for the Sam Smith's lager and they pull a face because you're not drinking Pensioner Brewery's Impotence IPA
