Walsh never bought him to be fair. As with Slimani it looks like we bought some of his old targets as a knee jerk reaction but Walsh never pulled the trigger on Slimani or Musa as they were both bought after he left.

Walsh was still here when we signed him.

The quote refers to both of them.  Ask any Everton fan what they think of the marvellous Steve Walsh.

Chill man it was a leg pull and yes I've seen their website lol

Watching that Barca clip you can see the comparison with Vardy. Obviously purchased thinking Vardy would leave then no place for him as he can’t seem to adapt elsewhere. Worst no 7 ever?

We had Dean Hammond as a number 7 for at least 2 seasons lol

Goodbye, good riddance one of the worse players ever to wear a City shirt.  Steve Walsh should hang his head in shame re this signing, hope he never comes back.

If Everton got rid of Walsh tomorrow, would you take him back as our head of recruitment? I know I would!

Yeah you're right actually. Sackable offence signing Musa. :D

Idk I thought we’d been monitoring both these players whilst Walsh was at the club, but you’re right that he had left by the time they signed.

We have a thing with sending players back on loan to their old clubs. Mendy, Musa and Ulloa so far.

I genuinely forgot Mendy ever played for us, let alone still being our player.

never should left russia first place.to be honests i feel for the guy,he hoped he would play in england and now he returned to that dumpster

Yeah, he must really struggle to spend that £70k a week he has most definitely earned for the last 18 months as well.

Its really sad.

Great to get him off the wage budget, finally. Atrocious footballer and atrocious human being if the stuff I've read about him online is true.

It says it all that an unknown lad from Ligue 2 has more trust from Puel than Musa. They guy had pace to burn but is very poor on the ball and struggles with decision making. I actually thought he could be a player that Puel could develop, but clearly not and in some ways this makes me respect Puel a lot more in that he's wasted very little time shipping out players like Ulloa and Musa.

Not every transfer can be a success, but it's a shame that the summer of 2016 was our worst ever window after our greatest ever achievement. I actually think this season we have done very well considering how badly we mucked that up and give some credit to the club for our recruitment even if the Silva situation was farcical.

people also seem to forget we were heavily after him in the January window of the title season - so walsh must have had some input here

Surely any of Taylor's was the worst no?

That wrecked the club for years after.

That's definitely a fair point. I guess I would back up my argument by saying we spent a hell a lot of money, breaking our club record three times in one window for Mendy, Musa and Slimani. Only Slim did anything of value of those 3 and it cost one of our most beloved managers of all time to get the chop. Not saying that was the only reason, but had we had Ndidi in instead of Mendy from the off we'd probably not have languished so low in the league.

But I'll grant you that Peter Taylor was a train wreck of the most unimaginable kind. He actually pulled off a reverse Ranieri because I seem to remember we were actually top or 2nd at one point with him in charge going into a game with Man United but from that point on we sank faster than a lead weight in quicksand. We all remember hoe bad some of his signings were.
