Grow up and get behind Riyad, or: stop listening to the press and wait and see how he reacts on the pitch

Please, spare me the outrage. Grew tired of it the last days and I'm personally trying to look at the situation from a constructive point of view.

Lol, why should he accept a wage reduction? He's already winning less than Jesse ****ing Lingard.  It's only about defining a release clause that would be acceptable for both parties since it's the major problem.

Your favourite Gray has been consistently shit since december and actually doing his very best to stay on the bench. Diabate is still new, Silva ain't a winger and Nacho is a striker. You need a playmaker and you have one of the best in league. Get him to play asap for the next months and try to finish as high as possible with maybe a place in the EL or win the FA Cup which would be good FOR THE CLUB AND THE TEAM. Unless you want to drop places on the table which would bad FOR THE CLUB AND THE TEAM.

We already made a big point by telling ManCity to fck off. The hardline will get us nowhere from now on.

I don't think he should have a wage reduction, but then I don't think he should have another new contract either. Live up to your agreement like everyone else has to.

Mahrez is leaving, we should be looking to the future not the past. Featuring Mahrez may get us a 7th place finish this season it may not - big deal. Playing more Diabaté and featuring Silva as our "playmaker" could get us a 7th place finish or maybe not - big deal.

I have faith in Silva being a better play maker than Mahrez and he'll at least be playing for the team and creating a team for next season.

Why you think Mahrez will ever put another 90mins of work in for Leicester again and why you think he'll put team above self confounds me. He has shown that he won't do that. Learn from your mistakes, don't go one repeating them.

Time to concentrate on the players that do want to play for this club. Let Mahrez do what he wants, fine him for any time he misses and if he don’t sort himself out that’s on him. We’re Leicester City Football Club, Not Riyad Mahrez + 10 others FC.

Mate did you ever try your luck as actor? You have some serious talent for drama.

lol Its not drama,  I'm sure no club will buy a player approaching  28 in the summer for 95m unless this player is exceptional, mahrez is amazing player he has it in him but he is not considered in that category, and he will never have the chance to prove it unfortunately.

Hope this doesn't end on a sour note but it's looking inevitable now. If he's going to routinely not turn up to work and demonstrate a blatant lack of respect for his employers, colleagues and the supporters I hope they start withholding his wages and open legal proceedings for the breach of contract. It's plainly unacceptable.

That won’t be the fee in the summer, they bid the day before the window shut and were having to pay a premium as a result.

If he has been told to stay away from training until next week to allow the team to concentrate on tomorrows game, then the club need to release a statement. Otherwise this 'Riyad Mahrez not turned up for training again' is not helping anyone.

There is no way he should get a new contract out of this. Just to make him play for us again.

Would the best solution not be a new deal with a release clause, so Mahrez knows for sure if the right offer comes in he will be allowed to leave and we get a good chance to get a good price that we deem acceptable?

The amount of times people forget this in their argument is annoying and undermines all discussion.

January prices go up anyway,  let alone right at the end of January. We keep having to go around in this circle for, and I hate to say it, Mahrez fanboys lol , who just want to see him at a big club

The owners have not go to DO anything ...   Mahrez has got to get his lazy sulky arse back to the training ground and do what he is paid to do !!   end of.

And this is costing us as a club in terms of disruption and points lost ...     fine the little fooker.

I wish mate things goes your way

but this time it's really different really and totally different

and the owners just shown us they are not that high level in doing business ( how on earth dealing with a crucial matter when your team was in a better position to win a second target ( Europa league after avoiding relegation )

if the team relied upon mahrez

means that mahrez is mr Leicester city   like messi is for Barcelona

lol unbelievable!

The owners have been superb with this, for us the club, their primary concern. Not so good for your Messi

Did they? From what i've read man city put an inquiry in for how much we wanted for him but didn't bother bidding as it was too much.

Haha. I sort of do believe that yes.  He is crucial to our success.  Which means if he leaves I want proper compensation and time to attempt to replace

Statement from Puel:

Yes of course it has happened which of course is not helped but you have to be as this comes and and when riyad we talk we deal with things with him we will see and our focus is on Swansea is difficult what we do is we try to bring him back but of course for us too it is difficult and they are professional the players.

If their last minute hike (due to Sane)  was only to 55, then its obvious that they werent willing to pay 55 at whatever point they approached for talks earlier in the window

Its fuching painfully obvious

how it's good gor you the club if Leicester is wasting crucial points and mahrez return to help his teammates is not on the table

unless you believe that feeling good in standing offers is a good thing

I am not sure I agree with the fact that he would not get on City’s team. However, i agree he has tarnished his reputation and is being terribly advised.

City were devisive in their timing and should have approached us weeks ago if they were serious and Riyad should have put his head down until the club had accepted an offer.

Modern football leaves a sour taste with the way clubs, agents and player power has never been stronger - all very sad and a bit of the joy in watching Riyad has died in this whole affair.

The owners are not to be messed with and I think this could get very messy as RM/advisors have hugely underestimated our owners ethical values and ability to be ruthless.

This could run on at RM’s expense both reputationally and financially.....it’s a sad situation

Seriously though would he start ahead of Sterling and Sane this season? Bernardo Silva has a higher celling too in my opinion. De Bruyne and David Silva pick themselves as the two 10's. Could even make a case for Gabriel Jesus playing ahead of Riyad. They also have Gundogan who plays 10 occasionally with Foden and Diaz coming through.

So for me Riyad would be the 3rd/4th choice winger.
