Mahrez is better than Sterling. This kind of comparison deserves more consideration. I had an argument with someone about Mahrez v Coutinho and they couldn't grasp that Coutinho would struggle posting anything like the numbers he does for Liverpool playing in our side because we aren't awash with attacking talent and don't play such attacking football. You put Coutinho, Sterling, Sane, even Hazard in our side last year and they'd have struggled. A side that refused to keep the ball, that sat back, that literally only thought it could score by booting long hoping Vardy could pounce on an error.

Man City dominate every single game they play. They have the best array of creative talent in the league, and some of the best in Europe. They move superbly, they work together, they open teams up with moments of brilliance. Mahrez is capable of those things. With the options around him in a side like that, he would be fantastic, and within a year would be considered a top class player. I truly believe he's that good.

If Man City are definitely coming back in June then a prolonged absence by him will simply reduce his valuation as no one else would touch him !

they may have already told his agent that the more aggro the better and that they will cover all his fines when he gets to Manchester !

Goals and assists only metric and the percentage of those players that have been involved in their clubs goals this season.

Mahrez 40.5%

Sterling 27.4%

Sane 23.3%

I admire your patience.

Can't take someone  who thinks that Sterling is a better player than Mahrez seriously. Especially when you consider the players around them and under which conditions they operate.

Because from what ive seen this season of all three players, in my opinion, the two Man City players have offered more.

Of course they've offered more in the most attacking team in europe right now.

Well no. If you want to look at it purely on financials. The club spent £400k plus wages and have made this back on the premier league win and the champions league campaign. Purely on financials, we do not need to sell.

Mahrez on the other hand will lose sharpness, usual progression and if he carries on the exposure he has worked so hard to accumulate.

The club will not be held to ransom. If Man City want him, pay for him in accordance with current market going rate.

Otherwise, Riyad Mahrez, in two years will be signing for West Brom or Stoke or if he is really lucky, newly promoted Ipswich.

We we will get what we want because, for once, this tiny little football club can flex its financial muscle.

mate  this time it's totally different

something big happen between mahrez znd the owners  in the next few  days

the owners were not selling ( puel said so )

hope realky its over as Leicester need to fight for the Europa league

if the owners are clever enough they should revisit mahrez contract and put in a release clause 70/80 m   otherwise we r sure of a real disturbance within the club but not sure about disturbance in mahrez s career as he got Kia as his agent

this time is really different

Well that's easy remedied by refusing to deal with Man City and I think the owners would do that. We won't blink first and Man City's interest gives a validation to other club's that he's top class. If another club wants him we can tell Mahrez that he either stays or goes there. We still have all the power.

It would be interesting to compare how the rest of the team members contribute to goals and assists.

I'd imagine Mahrez is so high because we have less 'talent' among the other players, and therefore he is more instrumental in creating our goals. Whereas for the Sterling and Sane the other team members contribute. This is much like how Ndidi's stats are much higher than Kante's this season. Chelsea give the ball away less... Kante has to make less tackles.

I think mahrez is one of the best players in the league but he's not as good, or as valuable as sterling. sterling is a ridiculously good footballer, he's world class. and he's still what, 22? 23? come on, guys.

Mahrez is pretty far ahead of Sterling in terms of technical ability and I dont think Sterling will ever be as good as Mahrez is with his feet

Maybe so but it's also ridiculous that these players can be considered better because they have similar goals and assists to Mahrez despite enjoying far superior conditions. Mahrez would be unbelievable at Man City and I believe he'd be considered the best player in the PL within 12 months.

The media and general public would give Pep all the credit though for turning a good player into a great player.

mad that people are still knocking sterling despite his contributions this season. isn't he man city's top scorer? they're the best side in the world atm and he's their leading scorer and they're going to win 4 trophies in 1 year and he's played basically every game and people still don't rate him?

open your eyes fellas, sterling is unbelievable and only going to continue getting better.

Maybe so or he'd have similar stats to them because other players will also contribute - and maybe even disappear a little because he'll see less of the ball.

All speculation because he is still contracted to us.

Doubt he'll be playing tomorrow but on positive we got man city next Saturday hopefully he'll be on his best form to beat them, but I think on serious note that come summer we going to have let him leave.

I'm struggling to find a definitive answer to the 'when will the 2018 Summer transfer window open' question. Most sites are saying it's going to be a month earlier than usual (middle of May) because the end of the window has been brought forward to August 9th (although TBF they all seem to be using the same syndicated article). The Mirror is saying officially June 9th.

If the former is correct it's only 3 months until the window opens again.

Got offered the opportunity to get a free Premier League medal, play in one of the most highly acclaimed squads in the history of the Premier League for a manager that's somehow made Raheem ****ing Sterling look world class. Imagine what he'd do with Riyad.

Forgive me a bit of shameless rep-point grandstanding but he's helped us get promoted, helped us win the league, helped us get to the quarter finals of the champions league. Just like Drinkwater, he had every right to look to progress his career and do so with our support and gratitude. That's football, folks.

All he did was request a transfer. There's been no downing of tools, no flouncing off, no refusing to play, no kicking up a fuss. He was a consummate pro after the summer, got his head down and got back to his very best.

Nothing to suggest he isn't going to do so again now.

He's probably leaving in the summer and when he does, cest la vie. Until he does, he's one of ours and he's a big part of our push to get back to our European tour. I for one can't wait to see the bright lights of Tallinn, Kharkiv, Warsaw and Tirana in the tin pot cup.

So please, stow the childish bitterness, stop buying in to the pathetic Sky Sports narrative that he's causing disruption in the squad, don't believe the melodrama and just ****ing support him and the rest of the lads.

Get behind the man that can't even be arsed to turn up to training anymore?

Yeah, alright then.

Man City: We want to buy Mahrez.

Leicester: Seeing as you've inflated the market and it's the last day of the window, we will accept £95m.

Man City: We can't afford that, we're willing to pay £50m.

Leicester: £95m.

Mahrez: I want to go!

Leicester: You signed a contract worth a lot of money and we're not selling you below market value.

Man City: Ok, how about £55m?

Mahrez: Please?

Leicester: Coutinho went for £142m. £95m

Man City: Maybe.......... £60m?

Mahrez: Waaaaaaaah.

Leicester: You're the richest club in the world. £95m.

Man City: OK, final offer is £65m. And you can have a player we don't want.

Leicester: You've spent more on defence than Afghanistan and Albania combined. We won't be bullied into accepting an insulting offer.

Man City: We'll spend the money on some silverware instead.

Mahrez: Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah

Leicester: We turned you into a multi millionaire and have so far paid you 70K to not turn up to work for 4 days.

Mahrez: But Pep needs cover for 6 weeks!

Leicester: We won't be bullied by their, er, crude behaviour.

There's an oil pun in there somewhere.

Slick
