Grow up and get behind Riyad, or: stop listening to the press and wait and see how he reacts on the pitch

You obviously haven't watched Leicester play with Mahrez. We've had countless games where we were an absolute shambles with him playing.

Posters like you make me hope that Mahrez goes somewhere else quickly because then you will too. You are not a Leicester supporter you are a playerfan. One of the lowest forms of football fan that exist. I wait for the day you are gone and posting on another forum whinging about why your cry-baby hero isn't getting gametime. Not to worry the transfer after the next will return him to his correct level. Begone.

We wouldn't have been champions without any one of our players from that season. It'll be interesting to see if Mahrez ever wins another trophy after he leaves us.

Good post that FIF.

This is a Leicester forum. Mahrez is seriously damaging the club we all love apart from the player fans who will just go and post on the forum of the next club he goes to thankfully. Mahrez can feck right off as far as I'm concerned now. He's stabbed his teammates and the fans in the back, who have no say in any transfer business anyway. It's a shame as he is seriously burning bridges with a lot of people who idolized him. The good thing is he's probably shooting himself in the foot as it's not a good look to any clubs looking at him. The only way he can salvage something is an apology to fans and teammates. Sign a contract with a release clause. And go in the summer if someone meets that. Put his toys back in his pram and do the job he is paid 5.2m quid a year to do.

He's on a hiding to nothing our little Mahrez. If he comes back, plays and is anything less than mercurial, people will say he's a cock and doesn't give a fiddler's.

You've been a very silly boy Riyad. I'd be hiring a PR manager for the rest of the season.

If and when he comes back I will shout his name and applaud like a looney ...    if he helps us get into Europe or even better win the FA cup I will shout till my lungs burst ...    I will be very very grateful...

But I won’t forget.

And if he's gash?

Mahrez has played his hand badly since last May.

Fair enough if he wanted to go. Anyone of our squad will leave for certain clubs but we wouldn't have had this drama had Mahrez not publically stated he wanted out last Summer.Man City knew that they could unsettle us with this 'offer' and by gum its worked.

To get a move you have to wait for the big clubs to go to you not the other way round. It was disappointing we lost Kante but there was no dramatics with him. Even if he was annoyed at a scenario of not selling him you get the impression he would have handled it a lot better.

Mahrez is between a rock and a hard place now. Only about a dozen clubs are gonna be good enough for him and the interests from those just really isn't there.

That’s the problem, he doesn’t give a fiddlers. He doesn’t want to play for us, he wants out, I think he’s distanced himself from the team and is going through the motions of doing a job because he has to. I also think he’ll bomb if he goes to a big side as the expectation will be huge because of the price and they’ll expect 90 minutes of sublime football from him gauging it on the 10 minutes they see on match of the day which we all know isn’t the reality.

They are right to be fair, but then we wouldn't of achieved shit without numerous members of that squad and he certainly wouldn't be where he is now, at this moment in time, unless we'd have plucked him from the French second  division and helped him not only to adapt to English football but thrive in it.

So it's a bit of a moot point we owe him about as much as he owes us.

Anyone lost a bike? :dunno:

Riyad Mahrez once fled a trial at St Mirren on a borrowed bike

Riyad Mahrez has admitted that he once pulled off a daring escape in order to get away from the cold of Scotland after a trial with St Mirren.

The midfielder could help Leicester City to their first Premier League title with victory over Manchester United on Sunday, live on Sky Sports 1, after a remarkable season which has also seen him crowned PFA Player of the Year.

However, the Algerian revealed that things have not always been so rosy for him after recounting a two-month trial spell at the then First Division side, where he compared the Scottish weather to "abuse".

Eventually, the cold got too much for him, leading him to leave his football gear behind as he left the club, borrow a bike and sneak out of his hotel in order to escape.

"An agent, Jean Evina, told me he had trial for me in the Scottish First Division with St Mirren reserves," Mahrez told L'Equipe. "He paid for my ticket and I went with another guy from Sarcelles [a suburb in Northern Paris], Dany Bekale.

"It went well. I played four friendlies and I scored seven goals. I killed them. And then they made me wait. Two-and-a-half months.

"I'd had enough. It drove me crazy, Scotland. It was cold. It was abuse. It was snowing and everything... I was so cold that one day I faked an injury to go to the locker room.

"It was physical and it was cold. We trained in the snow! I felt that I progressed; I wasn't allowed to go so I left in secret.

"Anyway... a few days later, my agent said... 'Riyad, I've sent you a ticket, you take the bus right away, get off at Glasgow Station and you get on the train to the airport, then you take the flight to Paris'.

"I did not speak English at all. I left my boots at the training ground. I borrowed a bike from a guy from the hotel, I took my football trainers, I made my bag and I left without telling anyone. Not even the lady at the hotel. I left via a staircase which avoided the reception."

Mahrez eventually signed for French club Le Havre after a spell with amateur side Quimper, before joining Leicester for £400,000 in 2014.

He won't play against Man City, too much baggage. So we will have lost him for 3 games, he better give £200k to the orphans of Leicester.

I’d have thought that would be the ideal game to play him in. If we can get a reaction from him it could give us a chance, and if he plays crap we can sub him.

I agree and let both sets of fans see him squirm!

I mean, they're right. Like Pablo said, there were other outstanding performers, such as vardy, Kante, but mahrez was and still is the creative heartbeat of the team. The player capable of magic is going to win you titles, that's how football is.

Reading these replies it makes me think how embedded the English "grunt n' tears and hard work" value is in your average supporter. It's really annoying honestly, just stop.

I wouldn't let the twat pull on a Leicester shirt again, he is a fvcking disgrace. The club have done absolutely nothing wrong. Lets see who comes in for him in the summer when he hasn't kicked a ball for three months.
