Hope he recovers but as I said before it’s a waste of money now. Move him on and get someone in who will be fit most of the season.

Should send him out on loan first half of next season, if he is doing well where ever he goes, and we could use him, bring him back in Jan, if not, at least he is able to get some first team football

Crappy news - the problem is that he has undoubted talent but the injuries stunt his improvement to the point at which he is being overtaken by others.

You have to wonder if we persist with him. It's a real shame. However I wouldn't count him out - the man has heart.

Such a waste of talent. I know footballers get paid a load but I can't help feel sorry for them in these situations. At least from his point of veiw he has managed to get decent money from his teens right the way up till he's 30, played in the premier league for a season and won some silverware where's someone like Matty Piper got about 4 years worth of good money and spunked it up the wall very quickly.

His body just isn't up to the task, I wish him a speedy recovery and hope he finds a suitable pursuit within football that is less demanding on his fragile frame than playing in the Premier League.

He has a new contract and no money issues. Obviously he would want to play and I don't want him to be injured but I don't want him in the team either.

Time for Silva to show up as he has been poor so far,but hopefully he is fully fit now.

He's come back b4 - hopefully will be back again...his metal strength will carry him through...Foxes never quit.

Currently having Achilles problems myself. The big difference between having an Achilles injury vs other lower body injuries - you can never really rest your Achilles long enough to heal it. Normal activity (walking, going up/down stairs, driving, etc) all exacerbate the injury. Running or playing a full 90 minutes would be just about the worst thing for you. At a certain point you just have to do surgery or completely immobilize it long enough to heal.

The way he's built might be leading him to putting a lot of pressure on his tendons (ACL, Achilles, etc.). I worry that not only he wont be able to play at a premier league level during the prime of his career, but i worry that he won't be able to play at any level. He is suffering from non-contact injuries because his tendon's cannot bear the stress he is putting on it from training.

It's a shame because he's a quality player and seems like a really good guy. I hope I'm wrong and he has a long career without any long term health issues. However, it may be wise for him to consider a career within the sport in a non-athletic capacity. Maybe he could work on getting his coaches badges or getting into broadcasting. He's probably made enough money throughout his career where he can still live comfortably. You don't want to end up not being able to function because you've destroyed your body trying to play in the premier league.

Do we not think he’s having the operation done now in the hope he’ll get a full pre-season and be back in contention for next season?

This season, barring the push for 7th is pretty much done. It gives Puel a chance to have a look at some younger lads and gets James fit for next season. The club obviously see something special about him to have given him a new contract while he was still injured and he featured a fair bit on his return. He’ll be a squad/rotation player with us next season, especially if we take a Europa League place.

Seriously though his agent is an absolute genius. 4 year contract after a run of what, 4 games in the side? Fair play to the guy he's set for life now, but I'm sure he would obviously rather be fit and playing.
