That seems to be life as a LCFC fan, or maybe football fans in general. Win one we are great and lose one we are terrible.

For me the manager never actually answers any questions ever put to him. Is this totally a language issue?

Surely the players are as bemused by some of the manager's decisions as we are. Iborra being out of the side until yesterday the most baffling.

I'm not saying he doesn't have good man management skills, I really don't know. But certainly on the surface, as an outsider looking in, some decisions have looked questionable to say the least.

Yup,but they are 'his' descisions,

whichI would rather See n have, than any dozos on Here, including Mine!!

I have been waiting for years,to No avail ,to See that day when a foxestalk Poster, wins the League.

Even get a selection idea anywhere near the Mark..

I don’t know what Puel said to gray but it should’ve been along the lines of “you’re nowhere near the player you think you are and your arrogance will always hold you back, you were crap today and have been for too long, book your ideas up.”

I have elite  man management skills ?

Respect for Grey yesterday, when he went over to the girl with disabilities and gave her his shirt and posed for photographs with her dad. I know they should always do this kind of thing, but sometimes they don't.

Agree with the sentiment that next week is massive for him in terms of fan base support.

Shame Silva wasn’t on the bench yesterday as those last ten minutes would have been perfect for him.

Sorry but I don't see how. He undoubtedly has technical ability but is lightweight, easily knocked off the ball, fails to see runners let alone track them and, for every nice looking little touch or pass he makes, appears to give the ball back to the opposition twice as much. Fit he should be by now, but he's struggling with the pace of our game. Some people would say we should persist with him for that reason but others say that we should do the same with several other players also. When the manager tries this and the results don't go our way, the same people slag him off for not picking someone else!  There will be reasons why some players aren't being picked from the eyes of a professional experienced manager as opposed to a bunch of supporters that all differ anyway.

Not sure. Fairly irrelevant though as he doesn't work in France.

Puel could turn up to press conferences in a ballerina's outfit and answer questions through interpretative dance and I wouldn't care. As long as he gets the results in the rest is irrelevant to me. Pep hardly spoke German and Bayern didn't care.

Let not forget Amartey having 5 great matches then disappearing for a month, or Drago....

Man management is about keeping everyone happy, not just a few.

You can’t keep everyone happy. It’s impossible.

How the squad does look at the moment is pretty much together. They seem genuinely pleased when one of em has scored, made a goal saving tackle etc.

But there’ll be players who, beneath the facade, are fuming cos they aren’t getting enough game time. There always is.

True, but dropping players who have played well won’t just decrease the moral of themselves but of others who are on the outside thinking that whatever they do when they get a chance it won’t be enough.

Interesting that this subject should crop up, I'm told that all is not well in the camp, and whilst I know a lot of us feel that the chosen one's have way to much power and it is time to rebuild/move a few on, I'm told Vardy is really unhappy with Claude, and that's the one that really worries me, I'd love to think we could keep hold of Mahrez, But it seems unlikely, but to lose both in the summer, would really concern me, I always felt once Vardy had made that choice to stay, we would probably see him play out all his best years at Leicester.

And it's not as if Vardy is kicking up a fuss because he's not getting game time etc, I mean he's in a good run of form when you consider how few chances he has had in recent home games. But it would seem that the stories about Simpson etc tie in with what I'm told, it really does seem there is a closed group mentality at the club, and they are not overly happy when one of them loses their place.

From the outside it would seem he has done a great job getting Mahrez, back involved in the group, and he's certainly managed to look at all the players at his disposal which should give him a good idea of what he needs coming inwards this summer, but I think it all feels a bit like Claudio again, and that the players may just get shot of another manager.

I've seen some positive steps in the way we play since he joined, bar the little run games where we have dropped points, Iborra coming back into the side was a massive plus for us on sat, and I enjoy us having a bit more of the ball, but it seems that some behind the scenes are not convinced. I feel an interesting summer coming up, and maybe a stressful one where it maybe best to avoid twitter and this place lol

The only 'mistake' if you can call it that is with Dragovic but I suppose his justification for that was that the last game before Morgan returned we got battered. Not saying that was Dragovic's fault by the way. Plus I don't think Morgan being back in is the reason we didn't beat Stoke and Bournemouth.

Amartey and Simpson are a much of muchness, both capable of good and bad games. Amartey is better on the ball but he rarely goes forwards.

Silva is an interesting one, clearly not took his chances but has not been helped by those around him when he has played. Struggling to fit in at the minute, number 10 is the only place he can play at the minute I reckon but Puel does that and everyone moans we're not playing two strikers.

Need to remember he is managing a squad he hasn't had any input in. You could argue he should have made more January signings but I reckon we were right given our position in the league to leave it until the summer where business is easier.

If that is true that is fuching annoying and I dont really want to believe it

Vardy getting the hump because Simpson is dropped is on par with Mahrez going awol for a week.... if that comes across as over the top, I want to clarify that the players trying to dictate to the manager is an undermining of the club

Difference between Claude and Claudio is we have actually seen positives from Claude's changes

I cant believe there is any truth in it, but if there is, hope the club backs Puel to bring in a number of players in the summer to suit his style and if people dont like it they can get dropped and try to force their way back in, that includes Vardy or whoever

But I can really believe it, dont want to believe it :(

Looks about right from Vardys performances against Stoke and Bournemouth, he looked completely uninspired by whatever Puel said pre match.

I'd like to think it's bull too, but the lad who told me has been correct in the past, I agree I think we all accept Claudio's changes didn't work and he was taking us down, Claude has shown signs of progress in patches, and whilst I agree it seems the players hold to much power, as it wouldn't be the 1st time, these sort of rumours have surfaced, I think it will be a sad day when Vardy and Mahrez are gone, and I'd be annoyed if Vardy left because of anything other than us deciding he was past it. I think him leaving because he wasn't having the manager, which was the phrase used, would tarnish his legacy a little.

I guess we may well find out in the summer, how much truth there is too it.

It's a fair point from you. And possibly the point I make is therefore not anything to do with man-management, as the two you mention seemed great at it according to the players, at least this early on in their time here.

Love it how we had a really good run under Puel, then we've had a poor spell, now hopefully we've come out of that but people are calling others praising Puel fickle lol

Didn't see Gray's reaction to being subbed but if he was as stroppy as some are intimating at being pulled then he is miles away from being any use to us. Needs to grow up or play Championship level for a few seasons.

Gray didn't look happy, but he didn't storm off. Puel stopped him as he was walking off and just talked him through something. It looked like he was referring to something on the pitch, but others think it was justifying why he  took him off. What he said I don't know but he stopped him and spoke to him and Gray looked receptive to what he said, although he may not have understood...

-----------------------

I don't know if Puel is a great man manager or not, but I am encouraged by his willingness to mix things up in his selection. We have seen variations in the midfield and in the attacking 3. He changes Fuchs and Chilwell depending on the opposition. The only constants have been Kasper, Maguire, Ndidi and Vardy. I know some people are upset that Morgan came back in for Dragovic, but he is club captain and Drago is a loan signing who might be off in a few months. Morgan hasn't been shit since he came back and we have looked solid at the back, just lacking cutting edge going forwards. Simpson came back, was shit, got dropped, Amartey got injured so it's a bit of a default return for him. Exactly what happened with Iborra I don't know, but he had some shocking games and has worked his way back into the squad and been rewarded, as it should be. James worked his way into the squad and was superb against Chelsea, but his form dropped we have players to replace him. Same with Silva, got his chance passed it straight to the opposition.

How much of shipping outMusa, Slimani, King, Ulloa on loan was down to him, I'm not sure, but it was a good move as we had a bloated squad with players that were not in his plans. An injury crisis could hurt us, but he is willing to use the young players so I am generally all for it.

Is it perfect, no, is there a coherent plan? That I can see, yes. More possession, more passing, greater control of games, but we have to be careful we don't lose our cutting edge and we don't just pass sideways. I like what he is trying to do, I understand how he is trying to do it. I don't agree with every decision he makes but I do think it is still a work in progress and we will see the rewards if we stick with him.

There are some 'employees' who will never be happy. Football management is about getting all your squad to do the job you want them to do but if, after an apposite period of coaching, they prove unwilling or unable to do that job, then persuading them they'd be better off elsewhere. Diplomatically, of course.

I guess I meant to vast majority.

The best example of this is when we won the league, players came in and did a bit part job with minimal fuss but admittedly that was obviously a complete freak event.

Very true.  A manager never blames or derides his players publicly...so it’s always gibberish that you will hear from a man managing manager...unless you’re Mourinho. ;)
