True but then again Chamberlain was on the pitch!

How many times in that 22 minutes I saw Vardy with acres of space between him and the GK and our midfieilders didn't push the ball into space. Still at least Maguire had a great game. Him and Stones looked really good.

I fear that we aren’t the only ones who may have noticed how well he and Stones play together. ?

I noticed this the whole game , not just with Vardy, his vision is absolute pants .

We were trying to manage the game and see time out. they were under instructions not to play it into the channels as that would be a good chance that the Dutch would regain cheap possession. Vardy must have been very frustrated but his job in that finla twenty was to harry and close down which he is extremely good at.

Are we buying stones then ?  Dw, he isn’t that bad ........

We should make an offer. After all he isn't the starting CB at City anymore.

It's going to be Alli and Kane up front as Southgate's preference frustratingly imo.

Have can imagine Kane and Vardy being a great partnership potentially.

I know I'm biased but the midfield are more at fault for me. You can't knock Vardy's movement. Alli in particular was dire.

He's been atrocious for the best part of a year now. I know people don't like either of them on here and I know he's slightly older, but Lingard is streets ahead of him now and has been all season. Alli just looks clumsy to me.

We know who'll be starting in Russia though so it makes no odds.

I agree with you to be honest. I've warmed to Lingard as a player. He's no world beater but it's hard to argue with his form this season.

Alli I think is a good, but limited player propped up by a very good system at Spurs, that he won't have at England. I also think that while Kane is better than Alli, he equally benefits from this system Spurs play and likewise, won't have it at England. Alli isn't close to being world class.

Alli benefits massively from having a player like Eriksen next to him. Alli scores and assists a fair amount but I’d bet that per 100 possessions he’s dreadfully ineffective as he seems to be dispossessed so much more than any other player, he’s got 2 goals in 23 apps for England which even if you’re a fan of his that’s difficult to defend when his primary asset is goalscoring.

Hopefulky Lallana makes a return to full fitness and form soon, there was a spell where he was our best player.

About 4 occasions Vardy was open and Alli looked elsewhere saw him but passed stupid balls a couple that gave away possession, don’t know what that little pr1cks problem is but he just wouldn’t pass to Vardy the Cnut needs to grow up and realise it’s not Spuds it England !!

Hoping now Vardy plays a blinder against Italy and grabs a goal or two Alli needs a clip round the ear to get him off his high horse !!

Don't like the "did not manage a single touch" context like it's his own fault. How about "was not given a single touch". Yes it could be his own fault if he had poor movement and disinterested body language but he didn't. I remember one of his first (maybe first) England games playing on the left where he kept calling for it and Keiran Gibbs would just shake his head and pass backwards to Cahill. I understand that if you're seeing a game out there's no need to play risky percentage balls but if we can see that, the players do, the management do why do the media miss it and revert to agenda based p*** taking?

This England team won't amount to anything because of one simple fact. The difference makers in the PL Aren't English. Man City is KDB/Silva, Chelsea its Hazard, Pool its Salah, Spurs it's Eriksen, Arsenal it's Ozil. even here it's Mahrez.

Vardy is not a striker that helps with the build up. yes, he sometimes gets the ball a bit deep but he isn't a creator. Just a simple pass/lay off and a burst forward. Kane has to start for me.

Alli is also the sort of petulent little bell end that wouldn't pass to a team mate because he doesn't like them. I saw him a few times look up see Vardy then just slow it down and pass it backwards to one of his mates.

That's the sort of shit that players need to put out of their tiny little jealous minds when playing for their country and if they can't then they can fvck off...

Having said that Vardy doesn't go looking for the ball enough, it is not something he does for us and some times he should because he is actually a decent footballer not just a speed merchant finisher. When he has dropped deeper I've seen him win/collect the ball play a neat pass, then turn and is able to find space as the defenders aren't sure whether to follow him, follow the ball, keep their shape etc. Vardy is a little too one dimensional at times, it's just a good job he is so good at it.
