I'd rather read Man City fans having the presence of mind to appreciate *just* what a player they're getting for 60 million quid (even if it is gloating), over weird little twitter goblins spouting nonsense about how because he plays for us he can't be good whatsoever by default, slapping a low valuation on him in the process.

He'll be an absolute star there. Double figures goals and assists easily and there'll be bigger scope to take the piss out of of full backs at the Etihad because they dominate so many games.

Kante is evidence that a player should be judged on individual skill rather than who he plays for. Kante, Manè, Van Dijk etc!

Maybe but I would suggest you look at the standard of teams Algeria have been playing, recent highlights include Libya, Zimbia, Tanzania.

His hardly ripping it up!

Think it's quite a tough call for him.

If he's feeling he wishes to stay put, because of the quality and potential

of the squad at the moment - he may have retracted his intentions to leave after in-house discussions with the management team etc.

But who would turn down any Champions League with European history?

There needs to be some form of clarification regarding this situation from any party involved in him as it could lead to more uncertainty.

He doesn't want to stay and it's not a tough call for him.  The fee is derisory though.  He's worth at least £90 million for me.

Or perhaps the club isn't listening to any offers now, even those that meet their valuation, and decline to negotiate with anyone about it?

Or perhaps we are trying to get our replacement sorted before he is announced as a Man City player?

True obviously, but it's gone to the stage now that this is getting rather tiresome and there's hardly anyone (including the various media outlets etc) who has been reliable with their 'information' on his situation and hence is hard to trust who's right on this now.

This has been going on for a while, and personally remain unconvinced that Mahrez has a 100% plan in what he wants to do.

John Percy is pretty well informed when it comes to us....It's just a matter of time Wymeswold.

100% this. We only paid approx £450k for him but that is irrelevant. Because of how he has developed and what he has achieved with us he is worth the £90m in the current market and we should hold out for as close to this as possible.

No.

It's clear from some of the other players the club has at their disposal and their plans for the future (new training base and stadium expansion) that there's certainly ambition, at a club that has certainly developed an already strong profile from the PL title-winning season - maybe Mahrez has acknowledged this, especially the former, and may well think the club is in a stronger position to compete for domestic cup trophies in the coming season and perform strongly in the league?

He knew about the expansion plans last season and was too depressed to turn up for training for a week because we denied him a move.  Face the inevitable Wymeswold...He's going!!

I'm not disputing what you say about our ambition as club and I believe we can compete at the top end of the PL going forward.

Mahrez however wants out and he has made that clear for over a year now. It's just a matter of when not if.

I don't know why but i really hope he becomes another drinkwater in that team and get 2 starts then us begs to come to Leicester but they then we moved on with someone better and loyal to us

Man City know other clubs will stay away since Mahrez has made his preference well known. They know we probably don't want a want-out in the team. Yet they know we were awkward enough to keep him on over Christmas. Looks like a battle of attrition to me.

With your powers of perception Wymsie I only hope that if I’m ever on trial in a court of law that you’re not on the jury. Unless I’m obviously guilty but pleading not guilty then I’m happy to see you there. ?
