Is that a reference to something that I'm not getting?  Because I want to answer somebody who's generally right-dominant and subconsciously keeps that side outward facing as a defensive evolutionary instinct but I don't want to have a whoosh moment after I post.

lol

No I was just being a dick.

Mahrez lost his loyalty bonus with leicester as soon as he put a transfer request in.

Doesn't matter if he withdrew his request he has still lost his loyalty bonus with LCFC

Unfortunately that won’t be the case mate. There will no doubt be a clause in his contract that states he only loses any loyalty bonus if a transfer request is active. It’s no coincidence that his agent withdrew the transfer request after the Jan window! Clauses like that are usually put into contracts to protect the club & save them a few quid in last minute deals

Unfortunately I’m pretty certain that won’t be the case mate. No doubt he’ll have a clause in his contract that states he only loses loyalty payments if a transfer request is active hence the reasoning behind him withdrawing the request.

It seems ludicrous & wrong but that’s just the way it is now and just another example of how agents manipulate & orchestrate deals in whatever way that benefits them.

Mahrez’s agent is one of the big guns who along with Jorge Mendes & that Raiola are always involved in the big deals that happen. They’re the modern day mafia that control everything

I feel we assume the loyalty bonus is around half a years wages (2.5m) then its something that the mahrez camp can throw in late on to oil the wheels of the deal if it’s stalling around a few mill.

Or we could refuse to sell him and force him to put in another request

That we could .........

the owners obviously came to an agreeement with him beginning Feb which should make that scenario unlikely but if Man City try to lowball us then why the hell not !

Are you ITK? You always seems to state thinks with such certainty - things that I just find hard to believe.

Christ this is dragging on. Thought all this transfer stuff was getting sorted pre world cup this year. Apparently not!!

Last rumours were of us trying to get Roberts to be part of the deal again. Maybe we are playing hard ball, which we rightly should be!

£60m is not enough. Should be £75m or 60 with a player.

It's frustrating but I don't think we are a club that necessarily has to sell to be able to buy, so we can probably work on getting the best deal here, without immediately impacting our own targets.

I imagine the deal is pretty much done, but we are pushing for a bit more, either money or player.

*Jeopardy theme song playing on endless loop*

...with Algeria’s run of friendlies now at an end, I would think that something ought to be happening. At this point, I’m sure both clubs and the player are eager to get this done and dusted.

Just in case anyone is interested:

Google translates to:

"The signing of Riad Mehrez in Manchester City has become a matter of time after it was agreed on everything .."
