Why does he need an agent to do this deal? He wants to go there, Pep wants him to go there. We are prepared to let him go there (subject to price). So WTF is the 'parasite's' actual involvement in this particular move, other than to line the pockets of his doubtless very expensive whistle and flute???

Can anyone explain this?

Not really apart from the fact that his agent is supposed to make the most of the deal from both sides for him - he may be on 130/140k per week but he may be getting a nice s/o fee on top of our loyalty payment ...... the finer points of deals are rarely revealed.

Mahrez lost his loyalty bonus with leicester as soon as he put a transfer request in.

Doesn't matter if he withdrew his request he has still lost his loyalty bonus with LCFC

Is the move to Manchester City still certainly on the cards or has it stalled for whatever reason recently?

Latest news is that James Nursey says it's still on, he's usually fairly reliable.

Yes - he has rushed back from international duty to make sure Jonny Evans isn’t going to nick his locker at belvoir drive ............

it’s nothing to do with getting the deal done and dusted before the World Cup gets started. I expect pep and others required for both the media side and logistical one are intending going to Russia at some point. This will also be Man City’s record signing and they will want to present it before the hullabaloo of the WC begins and unforeseen events potentially take media precedence.

but surely pep is on holiday in Ibiza. no hope of getting it done.

He’ll already have a contract ongoing with an agent, who’s employed to deal with the club from the players side from start to finish. It’s all well and good saying ‘they want him, he wants to go...’ but no doubt the agent has already done a lot of the leg work to get the deal where it currently is.

Clubs would take the absolute p*** out of players if agents weren’t involved. I agree that agents do take a big cut and aren’t the best thing for football, but they make sure that the player is covered in all eventualities (injury etc) and aren’t left high and dry by the clubs.

It's just common sense really isn't ???

If your loyal you get a loyalty bonus.

Putting a transfer request in is unloyalty.

But even idiots know that hense why I do

I’m 99,9999999% sure you’re wrong .......  common sense often has little to do with legality

I saw mahrez at the train station last year getting a bollocking by one of the conductors, no wonder he's been so desperate to leave.

Loyalty bonuses are generally written as a percentage each year, he would have had the bonus paid pro rata up till he asked to leave.

By asking to leave he has forfitted the remaining amount.

Logically if this wasn’t the case the loyalty bonus system would be pretty pointless as players could ask to leave every transfer window, then withdraw the request straight after to get the loyalty bonus paid again, then repeat until they got there desired wish.

In most cases certainly (at the top end of the food chain) Loyalty bonuses can be offset by signing on fees with the new club.

I agree but maybe not so sure as your one in a billion.

Mahrez never withdrew his transfer request because he wanted to stay, there would be a logical reason to it and his "loyalty" fee is probably it.

What kind of moron walks anti-clockwise?

Is that a reference to something that I'm not getting?  Because I want to answer somebody who's generally right-dominant and subconsciously keeps that side outward facing as a defensive evolutionary instinct but I don't want to have a whoosh moment after I post.
