Mindfulness is so important in todays world of stress and anxiety. I often think that we are so weak by comparison to those 19-20 year olds that fought in WW1 and 2. I can't imagine the stresses and anxieties they went through then. The fear of death must have been constant, yet in todays world, anyone on social media can be "stressed" and "anxious" by what's put online. There needs to be a way of relaxing young minds and giving them a sense of wellbeing and a real sense of perspective.

I would hope that those who fought in those wars did so for the chance that those who followed them wouldn't have to face the horrors they did; so with that in mind I'd take the more "mundane" stressors of modern life any day of the week. Rather have them stressing out and seeking help over the latest mobile update than wondering if the guy right next to them or themselves are going to get blown to bits.

As for the topic itself, Maths and Physics - already did for a time.

Used to go new college 8 years ago believe me anyone who wants to be a secondary school teacher is either deluded, insane or brave (at least at that school) don't know about anywhere else

Do you have any badges Toddy? Did a bit of goalkeeper coaching for the girls football team at uni during first year. Would love to coach kids but when I asked a couple of teams down here they wanted badges.

Would honestly love teaching engineering at a college. Not on the cards right now, but could definitely see myself going down that path in the future.

Bloody hell innov - is that a tiny touch of altruism I spy?!

Hell no. It's the next logical step to creating an innovindil army. Someone has to lead these children.

Teaching primary and GCSE/A level must be a piece of piss compared to years 7-9. I went to Humphrey Perkins and I'm struggling to think of one pupil who wasn't a complete cvnt at that school. Might as well just suspend education for 3 years and stick every 12-14 year old in a sweatshop, and let them advance to GCSE when they've proven their worth. Those that still piss around get to carry on making wallets for all time. I'm sure most parents would support that idea

Philosophy.

(from Greek φιλοσοφία, philosophia, literally "love of wisdom") is the study of general and fundamental problems concerning matters such as existence, knowledge, values, reason, mind, and language

I am a primary school teacher - currently teach 9 and 10 year olds.  I’d  also quite like to teach English and have an English degree, but definitely not to today’s teenagers! Think you have to be brave and very thick skinned to teach secondary!

I worked in Universities full time for over 10 years as a senior lecturer and external examiner for four HE institutions heading up subjects in the fields of offender management, criminology, criminal justice, youth justice and social practice. I’ve now gone out on my own as a consultant and work with professional athletes.
