It's all well and good buying a load of new players in the summer, but they will still need to be coached into a coherent unit. I somewhat see what Puel is trying to do to change the team when we have the ball, but the defensive side of his coaching is completely missing. Just about every single shot the opposition has at the moment is going in, and it's because we are a complete disorganised shambles at the back. "Better" players shouldn't be needed to make a defense look organised off the ball - FFS, even Paul Lambert and Roy Hodgson can get a team to look reasonably solid at the back. Unless Puel is willing to make big changes into how he coaches the off the ball side of the game, then he has to go, because a team that can't cope at all with defending is never going to amount to anything no matter how much money we spend. Jaspa Posted 28 April 2018 Posted 28 April 2018 (edited) Been completely dominated after the first goal, their pressing is stifling 90% of our forward play and they're capable of playing through us and cutting through our defence (how their goals came). Vardy very nearly scored at 0-0 but it's all been Palace. With Wilf and Choudhury as CMs were basically playing three at the CB with Choudhury dropping back all the time and Wilf as the only CM and Kelechi trying to bridge to gap to the midfield and Vardy - horrific Edited 28 April 2018 by SpazticChicken

Guest kristianity77 Posted 28 April 2018 Posted 28 April 2018 Let's face it this team now is rotten to the core. It's full of title winners who now are past it, or just outright don't care. Our best players can only be as good as the shite that surrounds them so players like Maguire, Mahrez, Vardy etc are looking awful because two thirds of the team nowadays is relegation fodder. And it's all controlled at the top by a manager who hasn't got the slightest clue what he's doing. Everything needs to change, manager and a shed load of players taken off the books for this to change. If it doesn't change in the summer it's gonna be a huge achievement to stay up next season. The football being played in the last 3 months and the effort being shown has been as bad as it ever has since the relegation season from the championship.
