reynard Posted 28 April 2018 Posted 28 April 2018 According to BBC Vardy has had just 4 touches in the whole half. Sums it all up for me. This is reminding me of that season we lost to Wycombe in the cup and barely won a game after. Puel is basically a French Peter Taylor. Anyone who isn't concerned where we are going is either not watching or has their head in the sand. Can't believe the owners are not worried about keepinh him on. 2

oxtonfox Posted 28 April 2018 Posted 28 April 2018 When was the last time we actually led in a game? We're in danger of sliding into the bottom half. I don't think the owners will be happy with this. I believe he may have the summer but what the hell is Appleton doing there? If Puel can't get over the message then get Appleton to explain it though not so politely as Monsieur Claude.
Crinklyfox Posted 28 April 2018 Posted 28 April 2018 We have some players playing below their best, to say the least. They can play much better than they're doing, and have done earlier in this season and previously. Some may be past their best and there's little to do but replace them, we have a subs bench plus the summer to sort that out. The most depressing aspect of the last few games is that the belief seems to have gone - the belief that sustained the team in the Great Escape season and in the PL winning season. Without that belief we will not succeed, and that will be a real problem next season. We need a manager and a captain who can motivate and inspire the players on and off the field. I'm sure the owners are aware of this, and if CP can't deliver 50% of that formula he will be gone, vision for the future or not. 2
ZeGuy Posted 28 April 2018 Posted 28 April 2018 @Marknotice that, like the last time, I didn't start the argument. Keep it in mind before you ban me again.
RowlattsFox Posted 28 April 2018 Posted 28 April 2018 Puel will get the sack inevitably but the same players who can’t be arsed will be back next year, we don’t have a overhaul of the squad in the summer we will be close to going down next year. We we are negative yet unorganised at the same time, needs to be one or the other. 3

We were 18th after eight matches, and that after losses against Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool. Three of these matches we lost by a single goal. Then Appleton took over for one match and led us to 14th. Seriously, why the revisionist drama? Meanwhile, fans are standing up for Claude Puel on the back of (what looks like) four wins in 18 matches and four goals scored in the past five matches, including this one. We were beginning to tumble down the same slope that we did after the title; the backside of the rollercoaster hills that we’ve all ridden since then. The shambles is deep within the club, and it’s been there since we lost to Hull on opening day 2016-17.

ozleicester Posted 28 April 2018 Posted 28 April 2018 We have failed with 4 managers since winning the league.... where does that suggest the problem lies? 1
Sunbury Fox Posted 28 April 2018 Posted 28 April 2018 (edited) Dreadful and worrying performance. I'm fearful that this could get seriously embarrassing. Ridiculous team selection and complete lack of organisation, cohesion and motivation. Just awful. Edited 28 April 2018 by Sunbury Fox
shen Posted 28 April 2018 Posted 28 April 2018 We're being tactically outfoxed by Hodgson. Again. There is no pressure on the ball, they can shift it nicely through the lines and that puts the players on the back foot chasing shadows. I fear it's Puel who is responsible for this style which I really don't understand. Likely the quality isn't there to implement his ideas for defending (plausible, as neither Chilwell, Albrighton, Choudhury or Gray and Mahrez on the wings have at any point proven to be good defenders at this level) but then he cannot defend his own team selection here. I know we're safe, but his job isn't and this sort of performance is not endearing to fans, the board or the players. I dearly hope that he is learning from his experiences lately and shifts out the players not suited to this style or finds an alternative way for us to play, because this is definitely not going in the right direction.
davieG Posted 28 April 2018 Posted 28 April 2018 Never mind Morgan Maguire has been woeful has given the ball away 4 or 5 times whilst under no pressure. Nothing about Puels team selection or formation just 11 players devoid of any form. 2

I said that a few weeks ago there are a lot of similarities when we lost to Wycombe we were "safe" and ended up getting there points form the last 36. Needless to say Taylor was gone three or four games into the following season.

Bayfox Posted 28 April 2018 Posted 28 April 2018 Money on Claude going or if he stays us going down next season.
fairbanksh Posted 28 April 2018 Posted 28 April 2018 Most of this team are basically good players There's no motivation There's no tactical plan There's Morgan back in a team when to many Dragovich was our mom last week This second half season is embarrassing symbolic and probably as poor as any in the league Sadly Puel has to go

And to change things, he might have to go against what Puel’s saying - you can’t do that as an assistant.
yorkie1999 Posted 28 April 2018 Posted 28 April 2018 Can’t wait for the give him a transfer window brigade to come out the wood work. This is absolutely shit football. One thing about Leicester over the years was at least they tried. This lot need to fvck off to their pastures new.
ealingfox Posted 28 April 2018 Posted 28 April 2018 We got more than a quarter of our points for the whole season in 4 games. Cheers for keeping us up at least Claude. We'll always have Southampton away.
TJB-fox Posted 28 April 2018 Posted 28 April 2018 Think this tells us what the players think of Puel. The guys come in, tried to implement a style of play and things haven’t really worked out. Under pressure lately, this was a game where the players needed to come out and put on a performance to demonstrate their support. Instead, they’ve chosen to come out and lose the game. That first half was absolutely pathetic and probably the angriest I’ve been watching us in years. The lack of effort is disgusting and it’s so clear they want the manager out. Gutless and pathetic. Feel sorry for Puel to be honest, they obviously want him out and there’s nothing he can do. Player power these days is mental. Fuming 3
