Even though I was there, at Stoke away, that day I can’t remember that much of the match apart from a Hume freekick, McAuley hitting the post and our goalkeeper (was it Henderson?) making a good save.

Looking back, we needed sorting out and relegation probably provided that.

In 10 years we’ve achieved a hell of a lot and for that we owe massive thanks to Pearson and Ranieri.

I don’t get why people say it’s the best thing to ever happen to us. That was winning the Premier League two years ago.

I’m aware of the space time continuum etc but with that in mind it was no more relevant than any other event since our formation.

If we’d have not hired Pearson I suspect it wouldn’t have been such a good thing, in fact, you could even argue hiring Sven was the best thing to ever happen to us using this logic.

I'd pretty much accepted relegation after the Sheffield Wednesday home game (probably the worst performance I've ever seen us produce) but still went to the game thinking we'd somehow turn it around.

My lasting memory of the game is the referee blowing up early due to Stoke fans practically being on the pitch and then Stearman and a few others sprinting down the tunnel the moment the final whistle went.

Anniversary of the day that I finally committed to LCFC, too.

I'm not from Leicester but ended up here and became an occasional fan around 2004-08.

Over those years, I'd go to the odd match, come away thinking "why did I waste £20 on that pile of shite?" and not go again for 2-3 months. :D

I didn't go to Stoke but watched the final day drama on TV in the pub. It all seemed agonising from there. I got the impression we weren't that badly organised, just couldn't create anything or take one of the few chances.

I resolved there and then, at the final whistle, to get my first season ticket for 08-09. At least it wouldn't be boring, I thought, and my adopted city needed me in times of hardship.

Hasn't turned out too bad, current tribulations notwithstanding - and it hasn't been a boring 10 years to be an LCFC fan...

Will never forget Harry Worley in centre midfield.

The Southampton game that day was ridiculous too.

Southampton had the Pearson magic that day.

It was also the day we lost being part of a small group of clubs that had never been below the 2nd tier.

Our 2nd lowest ever finish followed by our lowest ever finish when we won League 1.

Nothing much to shout about there.

....and how they chose our lowest ever League finish to put on the front cover of the history of Leicester City FC i've no idea.

That's not to say there weren't some great moments down there but I don't get this best thing to happen, we didn't need to get relegated to improve that's just an assumption for people trying to feel good about it.

That version came out at the end of the League 1 season. Don't they always have an illustration of the most recent season?

That day I daren't listen to radio or anything - I was down in Somerset with friends; they were celebrating Bristol City getting into the playoffs and I cowered in the corner hoping we had bettered Southampton's result - no one talked about us. At 6pm I finally called my son back home and he told me what happened. I slumped not quite believing it. I was also at that Sheff Wed last home game - if I'm right in thinking Sheffield were below us at the time on a great escape themselves ; that was a double blow and the performance yes I agree I can't remember a worse one though there have been a few ;-)

Hope you're enjoying the ride mate!

Leicester can seemingly go from the ridiculous to the sublime and back again at the flick of a switch- it's very very rarely boring, and perhaps that's why we're so disillusioned by this season. We'd probably be more happy in a relegation scrap lol

I was working that day, and remember checking the score on my phone internet, wary not to check too often in case it rinsed my credit (before the days of 3G, and it took ages to load!). I just remember being numb at the end rather than upset or angry. It was our own fault, and nobody really knew what the future would bring.

To this day a quick Google of "Leicester relegated Stoke" still gives you Smuts, Kokopops and Maybes.

5 years ago today was the day that Knockaert scored to see us into the playoffs.

Other than 10/11 and 11/12 we've always had something exciting happen on the run in at the end of the season.

This season has really got a dead rubber feel to it!!

Didn't we get relegated with one of the best defensive records in the league? that in itself is astonishing
