Quoted on the press release.

Id be baffled if he doesnt stay now.

Rudkin must have fought to keep him as i know he was under threat as well.

Also heard Mahrez to Man City looking very likely now.

So I take it from your posts, if Puel stays Vardy want to leave?

Can’t see how a unpressure manager is going to be supported by the club if it mean losing their best player.

See this speculation as net positive for Vard and Leicester, interest from athletico has following impact

- helps recruit aspiring players to the club during this transfer window, shows potential just look at Maguire at England.

- helps ease his case for selection in the first 11 for England during this years tournament

- hopefully he can negotiate a better deal from the club, he deserves it!

I don’t actually think he’ll leave, and if he does I’m not panicked. We’ll buy well this window, got a great feeling about next season and confident we’ll have no issues :)

Can't see this happening. This is a bodged link every window because Simeone said he rated him after the Champions League game. Also why are we talking about replacing Antoine Griezmann with Vardy? Griezmann is in his prime at 27 and regarded as one of the best players in the world. Atletico won't see Vardy as a replacement for him and even with the money they might see for Griezmann's touted move to Barcelona, they won't pay what we'll want for a 31 year old. That's before you even consider our owner's stance on selling Vardy and Mahrez in the same window.

Vardy has always known where his best interests lie. He'll be here next season.

Griezmann plays behind Costa like Okazaki played behind Vardy. Unless they are planning on selling Costa aswell then I don't see why Madrid would be interested? I call bs.

Vardy is off to the England camp tomorrow. He has said before in his book and in interviews that he refuses to think about transfers while with England.

Won’t have to- mrs v is already viewing the gaff across the road to Ronaldo !   She will sort it ???

In all seriousness, vardy is one of our players where we can afford to let their contract run down. His resale value at the end of his contract will have been calculated to be pretty low in projected budgets. we will offer him an improved salary and perhaps a years or two extension to his existing deal but we are under no pressure to sell and his people know this.

However, We have no idea if he and the owners have an ‘agreement’ should a champions league side approach from abroad.

Mrs Vardy liked this.... :dunno:

She is always doing stuff like this when it comes to transfer season. She seems to love causing a stir when possible. A lot like my ex lol

I am fairly confident that she'd prefer to live in Madrid over Leicestershire or wherever it is they live now.

An interesting one - there aren’t many better places to live than England if you have plenty of dosh. However, money can’t buy sunshine every day though it gets a bit tedious in the end. The opportunity for my kids to grow up with two languages would be tempting........

Personally I have always thought that when he leaves it will either be to Spain or America.

Jamie himself would probably love the opportunity to play against Real Madrid/Barcelona for a couple of seasons and not to mention playing in the champions league again.

Football careers do not last forever and to be fair to Vardy he has been/is a loyal servant to our club.

Let’s be honest, his Mrs is sitting at home pissing herself at the meltdown that happens on here about this every year.

He will probably get a new contract and rightly so but I did say after we went out to Atletico last year he would fit in well there.

If vardy tels top and Vichai that he really wants this then they will agree if we get an appropriate fee. The problem is that no one is likely to agree with us on that. I suspect this is just the general background stuff when new contracts are in negotiation - his people are pretty cute.

Almost like that's not the case...

I called this a few weeks ago, just had a feeling that he might move on. You couldn't begrudge him it either.

Without him and Mahrez it will leave a big hole, but we would have to replace them both sooner or later and maybe getting 80 million to help us do this will help.

I think that Atletico should have signed him last year. I think they'd love to sign him. I think he'd become accepted as a world class player when he banged in goals and won them the Champion's league but I think Vardy having flirted with the idea of fame and big club football realised that he loves Leicester and Leicester loves him. He's also watched Mahrez over the last couple of years and that will also have an effect on his decision.

I think he'll turn down the chance to leave but if he goes there, I'll understand it and cheer him on in every game.

If anyone deserves it from LCFC it's Vards.
